After the previous earnings report, the stock pulled back for approximately two weeks before beginning a sustained rally that ultimately broke above its previous all time highs. From a trading perspective, I believe investors may have a good buying opportunity next week, potentially around the 50-day moving average.

As a senior investment manager at one of a leading pension funds, I’ve spent years modeling memory semis through multiple cycles.
What I’m seeing with $MU today is not another cyclical upswing. It’s a fundamental regime change: the business is shifting from a classic commodity cycle to a multi-year structural growth compounder.
Backed by take-or-pay contracts with hyperscalers, sold-out HBM capacity through 2026+, and margins that now look more like software companies than memory makers.
I genuinely don’t understand the Michael Burry crowd still screaming “it’s cyclical.” The data no longer supports that view.

Supply will not catch demand over the next five years for several structural reasons:
• New leading-edge fab capacity takes 2–3 years minimum from groundbreaking to meaningful volume production. Decisions made in 2026 deliver in 2028–2029 at the earliest.
• HBM is extremely wafer-intensive — roughly 3–4× the silicon per bit versus standard DRAM. Every wafer moved to HBM actually tightens overall supply.
• Only three companies globally can produce advanced HBM at scale. Capacity additions are lumpy, capital-heavy, and constrained by EUV tool availability, power, and specialized engineering talent.
• Demand is broadening far beyond data-center GPUs: agentic AI with massive KV caches and long context, scaling humanoid robot fleets, autonomous vehicle/robotaxi platforms, generative video inference, military on-prem AI clusters, and rugged edge AI for drones, UGVs, and autonomous systems in contested environments.
Long-term agreements have already locked up the majority of near-term supply. The old spot-market clearing mechanism is broken.

The result is earnings visibility and pricing power that previous cycles never had.
If $MU were trading at 20–30× 2027 earnings, the cyclical warnings would be understandable.
But at ~6× forward multiples? The market is still applying a 2018–2022 valuation framework to a completely different business.
This isn’t a trade. It’s a multi-year re-rating that most investors haven’t priced in yet.
The old cycle is dead. The new regime has only just begun.
