Built My First Cipher Bid DApp On Sepolia Using Fhenix FHE.
It’s a private auction where bids stay encrypted onchain.
No public bid values. No leaking strategies. No frontrunning games.
👉 Live demo: https://t.co/QSx5BZqi8V
(Use a burner testnet wallet it’s Sepolia, safe, but still best practice.)
How it works (simple version)
• Connect wallet
• Enter a bid amount
• Submit a private bid
• Bid counter increases, but no one sees the value
During the auction: Timer runs Bids are accepted Highest bid stays encrypted
When the auction ends: Bidding UI disappears Users see “waiting for next round” Owner can start a fresh round instantly
Why this was interesting to build
The contract doesn’t store bids as normal numbers. It stores them as encrypted values.
So the logic becomes: Compare encrypted bids – Update encrypted highest bid Decide winner without ever revealing inputs
You can’t branch directly on encrypted data, so you have to think differently. That’s the real shift.
This isn’t privacy via frontend tricks. The computation itself is private.
Still early, still learning but building this made one thing clear: confidential apps on Ethereum are actually buildable now.
Just deployed a contract on Sepolia using Fhenix FHE.
Was honestly curious how encrypted computation would feel in practice and it’s smoother than I expected.
You’re still writing Solidity, but instead of assuming everything is public, the contract works with encrypted values by default. Inputs don’t leak, state doesn’t leak, but the logic still executes normally.
It changes how you think while building.
You stop designing around exposure and start designing around actual privacy.
This isn’t some UI trick or off-chain workaround.
The computation itself stays private.
It’s early, but after deploying once, it’s pretty clear where this is going:
confidential apps on Ethereum without breaking the dev experience.
Privacy finally feels buildable.
