Leadership isn't always about standing on a stage.
Sometimes it's about sitting under a tree, listening, educating, and creating a safe space for honest conversations.
As a breast cancer survivor and patient advocate, every opportunity to speak is an opportunity to inspire hope.

Leadership is often celebrated on the stage, but it is built by the people working quietly behind the scenes. Today I'm grateful for one of those people, my elder brother. Happy Birthday to a man whose support has shaped both my journey and the work I'm privileged to do. ❤️
As a breast cancer survivor and advocate, people often see the hope I give. They don't always see the days when I need hope too.
This morning, someone told me, "Mariam, I've been seeing you rise every day." I smiled... because I wished they had seen me two days ago.
During chemotherapy, my weight dropped to 48 kg. Today, I stepped on the scale and saw 59 kg. I climbed it about five times because I could not believe it.
I know I am not meant to gain too much weight, but today, this number feels like progress, survival and hope.
@Coping_Cancer@kymdouglas Happy birthday champion! The diagnosis is one journey, the Survivorship is another entirely different journey.
Wishing you more beautiful years from another pink sister ❤️🎀
