We were pleased to welcome members from Ontario Organic to our Grimsby anaerobic digestion facility for a behind-the-scenes look at how organic waste is transformed into renewable energy and valuable agricultural solutions.♻️

Organic waste materials, such as kitchen grease and green bin waste, are processed through anaerobic digestion on site to produce renewable biogas. This renewable #energy source helps power over 1,000 homes, while supporting a more sustainable future. The process also produces nutrient-rich digestate that is used as a sustainable fertilizer by local farmers.

Today we celebrate #WorldBeeDay and the critical role bees play in helping sustain our ecosystem. Across multiple Walker properties, thousands of beehives help support vital pollination efforts. 🐝

Working alongside beekeeping operators, Walker is home to millions of bees that help support local farms, vineyards, and gardens in Niagara by increasing crop yields and plant diversity.

Building a sustainable future starts with caring for the land we manage, operate, and live on. In 2025, 30% of all Walker-owned lands were dedicated to farm, conservation, and managed forest.

Walker hosted its 7th annual Day of Action on Litter community clean-up yesterday, and with the help of 50 colleagues, more than 6,900lbs of litter and waste was collected from community parks, trails and high-traffic areas!

Walker began hosting its Day of Action on Litter in 2019, motivated by the proposed private members Bill 130, which raises awareness of the importance of a clean environment and discouragement of littering. Walker has also conducted community clean-ups in Halton, Grey-Bruce and more over the past few weeks.

Each Walker employee is given two paid volunteer days per year to take time to support local initiatives within the communities they work and live in. Throughout the year, Walker employees look for ways to help their communities and in 2025, spent more than 4,600 hours volunteering with over 100 organizations.

We're supporting carbon reduction across Canada with renewable natural gas. 🍁♻️

In 2025, Niagara RNG successfully underwent the registration and approval process through Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) to participate in the Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR).

As a Canadian owned and operated company, we have a verifiable low carbon energy that helps meet the demand for renewable fuels. This is important to Walker as it allows us to serve industries and communities across Canada to align with Canada’s climate action plan.

At Walker, we collaborate with community green bin programs across #Ontario. By leveraging state-of-the-art GORE® technologies, organic waste collected from resident driveways is transformed into high-quality compost for consumer use. This sustainably sourced compost helps reduce reliance on chemical fertilizers, improve organic matter in community gardens, and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. ♻️

Today, as we mark the National Day of Mourning in Canada and Workers Memorial Day in the United States, we remember those who have lost their lives, suffered injury or illness on the job, or experienced a work-related tragedy.

Across North America, this day serves as a reminder of the importance of workplace health and safety and our shared commitment to preventing future tragedies.

The Walker Team recently had a great time at the 2026 Value of Biogas East Conference, building connections and gaining insights into the ever‑evolving biogas and renewable natural gas landscape in Canada. ♻️🍁

The conference included a tour of the Generate Upcycle London AD & Biogas Plant in London, Ontario, an exhibitor hall with dozens of businesses showcasing new innovations, and panel discussions which featured Walker’s Vice President, Government and Community Relations, Chris Breen, and Environmental Performance Business Partner, Crystal Vella.

Walker had the pleasure of supporting and attending the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce’s annual State of the Region event in Niagara Falls.

The afternoon featured discussions with community partners and leaders, along with an inaugural address from newly appointed Chair Bob Gale, covering topics such as #infrastructure, housing, and transportation.

It was great to hear from so many organizations across #Niagara. Our Vice President of Government Relations, Chris Breen, also had the opportunity to highlight Walker’s longstanding history in the region we are privileged to operate in and call home, along with our ongoing commitment to helping build a sustainable future in Niagara, together.
