@ThePenOfEli@WGNNews Funny… don’t want to give money to a multibillion $ corp? Then why is IQMP getting lower property taxes & 1 billion in public funding? IBM even got tax money and that’s a company worth a quarter trillion bucks.
This isn’t about pride. It’s about compromise or the team leaves.
@BrianCostin I was thinking the same. He just keeps the same rhetoric as he tries to work behind the scenes, trying to keep his fingerprints off so he can shed blame if he needs to.
@andrewbrady They aren’t moving cause Soldier Field is a difficult location. Soldier Field is actually a great location and there’s no massive lot of land just readily available at a better location in Chicago.
@CrainsChicago How about Springfield come up with a deal they’re comfortable with and start there? The Bears have said what they want and there hasn’t been a single bill passed.
@paschutz This would be a really good idea and great compromise. They stay in Chicago and I think the city can get behind funding that... and, as they say, is already significantly invested in that infrastructure anyway.
@Fightflix_ What's the big deal What's he going to do in the women's bathroom? Are women walking around naked in there? Is he going to attack some lady in the bathroom while he's with his 2 daughters? It's less graphic than taking little girls in the mens and seeing dudes peeing in urinals.
@akashicenergy@JAYChi_Bears@paschutz@nbcchicago “Can’t” is not true. You just need to negotiate. But besides that, you’d have to know exactly what parts have an easement. Regardless, this is site development 101. Everyone involved has known this for a long time and clearly are still considering the move.
@CubsJCarl@HGrahamNFL Well, that's a different thing altogether. They can be talking about it, and it can still be a smokescreen. They're not mutually exclusive.
@CalebIsHim Wouldn’t it be obvious that permits aren’t submitted? How do you think this works? You submit permits before you do any design or even pick a single site? They’ve openly said they’re currently looking at two options.
@BillTZimmerman I just said the same... who would expect permits submitted? There's not even a site-specific design cause they're still evaluating multiple locations. They even said they're waiting on their site investigation reports. They need months to develop something to submit for permit.
