@AriDavidPaul Being able to move my data around (web3) w/ minimal friction weakens those moats and then the key differentiator becomes UX & the ML Algos.
Most ppl will want a robot butler but they also want optionality.
@AriDavidPaul Fair point, although I'd counter with the vendor lock-in and switching costs issues of Web2.
As a user I'd want as many platforms as possible competing to provide me that 🤖 butler.
@trengriffin Unrelated, but just wanted to say thank you for sharing your knowledge with the world for so many years!
Also, thank you for helping us filter through the noise & lack of depth that constitutes a good % of media.
P.S. will be picking up your Munger book later today 😃
@experilearning I love how you structured it within the greater context of prior & related solutions.
Makes it so that someone who isn't familiar w/ the area can immediately understand the ‘why’, which is even more important than the 'what', imo
@experilearning I’m sooo thankful for browser extensions.
They’ve helped bring my web experience closer to the ‘bicycle of the mind’ ideal that I wish was emphasised more. Only downside is they’re not available on mobile devices
@maxim_xyz To me, this is exactly what I love about Apple.
They didn't create the first phone, mp3 player etc.
But they were the first to do it right.
Execution is everything.
@naval Agreed.
Permissionless is key.
You can't build on top of quicksand (e.g. AppStore)
Would also recommend @ballmatthew's writing on the Metaverse - if you haven't read it already.

@maxim_xyz Couldn't agree more.
P.S. Can't wait to experience Unai
P.P.S. Thanks for introducing me to this, via the og Relativity trailer 😀:

@benedictevans@alessi0p@StephanSturges@fchollet@_ThomasT Couldn't that be because of how we currently view those experiences -- through a flat screen?
Greater immersion seems to lower the bar for fun experiences
e.g.
Table Tennis on traditional console = boring
Table Tennis on VR = system seller

@StephanSturges@alessi0p@fchollet@_ThomasT@benedictevans Also, forgive my layman's understanding, but I always thought uncanny valley had to do with human faces?
Couldn't we just have more realistic environments, objects, bodies etc. and then just stylise the faces? Or is there something I'm missing?
@StephanSturges@alessi0p@fchollet@_ThomasT@benedictevans Aren't realism and jaw-dropping experiences separate conversations though?
I'd wager the best digital experiences are centered around doing things that we cannot do in the physical world, and therefore play to the digital world's strengths.

@DarthBuzzard@StephanSturges Exactly, also passthrough & guardian modes (which are available on the quest right now) go a long way towards solving that problem.
