Computer science people have developed an unintentional form of gatekeeping by virtue of being extremely bad at explaining/naming things, which results in simple concepts sounding far more complex than they are.

almost every major advancement in history is a form of distillation.
e.g. apprentices learning from masters, scientists building on prior papers, engineers reverse engineering products, students reading textbooks, companies hiring experienced employees, etc.
like i love cooking, the way i learned was by watching a fuck ton of food network & now a ton of youtube. i love wood working, i learned it all by watching youtube videos. even michelin star chefs go to learn from master chefs & mimic them.
