The Bitway team is heading to Binance Blockchain Week!
As a proud member of the YZi Labs @yzilabs portfolio, we’re also invited to both the @EASYResidency Demo Day and the YZi Labs Annual Party.
Find us there. Let’s connect!
The main beneficiary of this deal is not the community and not the creators. It is the @StargazeZone team. (Which I’m fine with)
This deal is not in the interest of @cosmos or $ATOM, because Cosmos and the people representing it are not focused on developing decentralized finance or strengthening the community. They can change their plans at any moment, which would negatively affect both the Cosmos “main project” and Stargaze as well.
Second. If Stargaze migrates to Cosmos, the winner is Stargaze. They will get funds for the migration, for their own development, and for basic operations. Right now they do not generate that level of revenue from fees. I fully support Stargaze in their search for resources, and in principle the community pool exists for community needs. But the “culture and preservation of culture” mentioned in the proposal is not reflected in practice. Stargaze has at most around twenty active collections, and only four or five of the such as
@badkidsart@madscientists_x@expedition_pics
are true flagship projects that consistently contribute. Yet none of these collections become beneficiaries of this migration or of Stargaze as a whole. Afaik.
There is no mention that creators or developers of collections will receive any benefits, even though they are the ones who actually build culture. The platform is being developed by Stargaze, but the culture is being developed by the collections, and they invest a huge amount of time into it.
And again, the current Cosmos leadership shows little interest in community-building or preserving any form of cultural continuity. They have publicly stated multiple times on Twitter that the “Cosmos ecosystem no longer exists,” that the “old Cosmos is gone,” and other similar narratives.
Finally, I believe this deal will serve as a convenient excuse for @cosmoslabs_io to avoid changing the tokenomics for another year. They will be able to say that something is already happening, some migration is underway, Stargaze is now on Cosmos, ATOM finally has some utility, and so on. Instead of allocating resources toward meaningful tokenomics or creating a real use case for ATOM that fits the current market, this will simply delay the process for another year. The arrival of Stargaze on Cosmos will make designing tokenomics and assigning value to ATOM even less convenient, because everything will need to be synchronized with them.
Also, ATOM was never designed to be a token for an NFT marketplace. Maybe it was intended as a chain-agnostic ecosystem token, but this design was never written down anywhere.
As a result, everything happening before a proper design is defined is more likely to become a performance instead of real action.
