Polymarket did another scam
First, Polymarket insiders bought No when Yes was trading at 70%
Ronaldo cried after the match
But Polymarket still dumped the market to 3%
All the No holders (insiders) cashed out
After that, the community put pressure on Polymarket that Ronaldo cried in the match
Polymarket took time and told all insiders to buy Yes
All insiders bought Yes at 3%
Then they pumped it to 100%
Polymarket team & insiders made money on both sides and the community got rekt
Hold on. The entire validity of this bet relied strictly on the 'matching photo' rule. With zero matching photos available, removing the core rule automatically nullifies the contract. Your current bias isn't just double standards—it's completely desperate.
People don't realize how hard, or even impossible, it is to write prediction market rules that cover every edge case.
Polymarket, Kalshi and every prediction market platform struggles with this.
In the Ronaldo World Cup crying market, some people argued that the "clearly shed tears" clause shouldn't exist because of yesterday's edge case.
But if that clause was removed, it would create new edge cases that the rules don’t cover.
No rulebook will ever cover every possible scenario.
What prediction markets should do is issue clarifications quickly when an ambiguity is identified and be transparent about how the clarification decision was made.
@cryptobasenji@elonmusk@Cristiano@Polymarket@UMAprotocol@PolymarketSport@AskPolymarket So literal rules and UMA don't matter? Should I just trust Reuters instead? Is this even still a decentralized market? I am simply respecting Polymarket's rules of the game. In my view, you show an absolute lack of respect for both the literal rules and UMA.
Real crisis of confidence @Polymarket . Firing head of markets and flipping a .96c market on the same day is something only they could pull off.
I would not recommend anyone bet on any contestable markets for several months.
Did Ronaldo cry at the World Cup?🐾
Polymarket says 17%. The professional reporters who were in the stadium say otherwise.
The rule: resolves YES if he “visibly sheds tears that can be clearly observed on his face.”
ESPN, CNN: “tears in his eyes as he walked around the pitch.”
Reuters captioned the photo “in tears at the final whistle.”
Yahoo called the image of him crying an instant iconic moment of the tournament.
So the record is: every wire service and every major outlet, watching in HD, on the field, wrote that he shed tears. And a handful of NO holders zoomed into a photo, decided the tears were sweat, and are now betting that a man wiping tears from his eyes wasn’t crying. 🤭
The “it’s sweat” argument is the tell. It works against literally any crying moment ever filmed. By that logic no one has ever cried on camera, and no market like this could ever resolve YES on any evidence.
The market is titled “Will Ronaldo Cry at the World Cup?” He cried. ESPN says so. Reuters says so. Your own eyes say so.
I’m on YES, because “sheds tears clearly observed on his face” is exactly what the cameras and the reporters recorded. If this resolves NO, it won’t be because he didn’t cry. It’ll be because a few large NO holders needed him not to.
I didn't see any tears in the picture, let alone 'visibly sheds tears that can be clearly observed on his face.' Are you absolutely sure you can see them? Liar.
TRUTH PREVAILS🐾
UMA scammers tried Once more to scam and distort the reality. Polymarket fired the Head of markets because the guy has committed ENDLESS mistakes “probably” on purpose to let these UMA scammers totally screw objective Polymarket traders.
This is a great Victory for the future of @Polymarket
@cryptobasenji@Polymarket@PolymarketTrade I didn't see any tears in the picture, let alone 'visibly sheds tears that can be clearly observed on his face.' Are you absolutely sure you can see them? Liar.
@UMAprotocol Protect your reputation! If you validate Polymarket's forced "Yes" without 4K proof of tears, UMA is dead. Don't be their cartel accomplice!
@Polymarket@PolymarketSport@AskPolymarket Stop the fraud! Your rule says "CLEARLY observed." 4K proof shows zero tears. You are overriding rules and UMA to fleece users. Scam platform!
@elonmusk Boss Elon, please look into Polymarket. They are completely ignoring rules and decentralized UMA oracle on a $7M market just to force a scam.
@Cristiano You didn't cry at all after the Spain match, right? It was just red eyes of a warrior! Polymarket is ignoring its own rules to scam people. Legend!
Polymarket is RIGGING the $7M Ronaldo market for a forced "Yes"! 🚨
Rule says: tears must be "CLEARLY observed on his face." 4K footage proves ZERO tears, only red eyes.
PM is ignoring rules & UMA oracle to scam users via media hype. Fraud!
