I wish crypto was fully mainstream already. I'm trying to pay for something in a South American country from the US and my transactions are being stopped by a bad fraud filter on their payment provider. It's been over 24 hours. I wish that could have just sent them USDC.
CLARITY act is a good bill
the admin and many on capitol hill have worked very hard for years
it provides substantial new regulation and investor protections
it also encourages innovation and puts USA at the center of the digital assets capital markets
pass it!
@pinedegen π interesting. I wouldn't do it myself but there's always people that will throw caution to the wind. Maybe we'll get better population level data faster from these experimenters.
Hundreds of applications across all roles, with interviews already underway.
We're currently hiring for:
β Head of Marketing
β Head of US
β Head of APAC
β Head of MENA
β Forward Deployed Engineer
More roles coming soon. Keep an eye out.
Come bring the world onto Ethereum with us!
Oh please let's get this thing over the line already. We need to get our transition underway to the new financial foundation (ETH) from the people who require rules in place to move money and have legal safety for themselves.
History will remember this as the moment a president chose a higher standard of ethics than the law required of him. This agreement bans ALL federal officials β including the President β from issuing or sponsoring a digital asset for profit, with real enforcement and real penalties.
Thank you,Β @POTUS! Let's get the Clarity Act passed NOW.
Thankfully we probably will never build something like that until we get indefinite life extension technology. There's an absurd amount of space in the solar system to live within so a generation ship is ethically questionable at best.
Expansion outside of the solar system will probably be small cylinder habitats that slowly expand the frontier and serve as rest stops & laser pushing stations. There's no reason for the giant leap directly between star systems when we can just expand and wait for opportunities of stars drifting closer by to us to shorten journeys like that.
Goal is fast *finality* asap, but in the meantime fast confirmation (https://t.co/vFVtjqULOa) is already here and gives a *very strong* confirmation in seconds, 98% faster than finality! Now on Glamsterdam devnets
If everyone in Ethereum had 10% of Ben's humility and dedication to take a single subject and explore the landscape, we would quickly coalesce on a roadmap that is both wanted and attainable. One of the best down to Earth writeups I've seen on the subject (it could be any subject but here it's fast finality). The great thing is that Ben is not designing the consensus protocol. He's also not directly involved on either developing it nor benefitting from it.
We need a whole lot of this kind of work: gather feedback from the community, make an opinionated edition (there's no question that Ben's taste on the trade-off space is clear) and then post a clearly stated plan for everyone involved to consume.
I'm glad to see @benjaminion_xyz's work on this and I'm hoping to see more involvement from the community so that we can coalesce quickly on this subject that is an inherent trade-off space in Blockchain and we will need to make a decision on where we stand soon
I know it's totally weird for core devs to talk to users, but I've only gone and done it.
Upgrading Finality 2: What the Ecosystem Told Us
Huge thanks to all who participated π

Today we're launching EthSystems.
We build confidential systems for institutional Ethereum.
Institutions want to use Ethereum, but one of the biggest problems is the lack of built-in, modular privacy tools.
We were the Ethereum Foundation's Institutional Privacy Task Force (IPTF) for the past year. We had hundreds of conversations with central banks, regulators, tier-one banks, and asset managers, shipping open source work the whole time.
Wall Street has found crypto as an asset class, but not yet as commercial infrastructure. Institutions want to run real flows on Ethereum: stablecoins, tokenized assets, settlement. These are businesses with billions of dollars on the line, and no bank will operate in full public view. On a public ledger, confidentiality is the hard part: each party to a transaction should see what it has a right to see, and nothing more.
We have a year of proof of work: private bonds, confidential stablecoin transfers, private settlement across chains, the Ethereum Privacy Map, and more. All with protocol specs and security properties, at our website.
We've spent a decade working on privacy in crypto. We know there's no silver bullet. Different use cases need different systems, each designed, specified, and hardened properly, and someone has to do that work. That's why EthSystems exists.
We're an independent, for-profit company, backed by long-term Ethereum-aligned investors. This is a decade-long transition, and we aren't going anywhere.
If you're an institution that wants to build on Ethereum, talk to us. We're hiring: BD in New York, protocol engineers, ops: [email protected]

Switzerland is the gold standard of fiat. And it still couldn't hold the line.
We don't need crypto because fiat is badly run. We need it because even the best-run fiat leaks.
Ethereum whole energy footprint is less than famous landmarks such as the British Museum.
The result is 'Ethereum after the Merge β A Change in Power', out today from the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance, Cambridge Judge Business School at Cambridge Judge Business School β direct wall-plug measurements across 20 client configurations and two hardware profiles, and a far sharper picture of the network itself.

Private communication is a precondition for a free society. Any measure that scans everyone's messages by default is mass surveillance, regardless of what it is built to find.
