TSMC's numbers show that the AI chip boom is still going strong.
Q3 revenue reached NT$1.494 trillion, or $46.72 billion, beating the company's guidance ceiling of $45.8 billion. EPS came in at NT$29.43, up 68.7% year over year.
The margins were strong too. Gross margin came in at 66.4%, while operating margin reached 58.7%, slightly above guidance.
But the bigger story is the next quarter.
TSMC expects Q4 revenue of $52.3B to $54.3B, which would mean roughly 12% to 16.2% growth from Q3.
A few things stand out:
• HPC, which includes AI and data center chips, accounted for 68% of wafer revenue.
• 2nm chips already made up 8% of wafer revenue.
• TSMC expects another strong quarter despite already posting record-level revenue.
This is good news for the AI trade, but strong earnings don't automatically mean the stock goes up. The market still needs to decide how much of this growth is already priced in.
I'm watching TSM first to see how AI stocks react. BTC could feel some spillover if the broader tech market moves sharply, but the connection isn't direct.

🔥 Hot CPI just brought the Fed’s next rate hike back into the picture, and BTC felt the pressure.
September CPI rose 0.6% month over month, while annual inflation climbed to 3.7%. Core CPI also came in hot at 0.3%. Gasoline jumped 9.1% in a month, but price pressure wasn’t limited to energy.
BTC dropped around 1.5% after the release as stocks fell and Treasury yields moved higher.
The bigger concern is what happens next. Markets pushed October rate hike odds from around 22% to roughly 40% or more. The 10-year Treasury yield also moved toward 5.3%, close to multi-decade highs.
Here’s what I’m watching now:
1. BTC: $81K is the next important support area. If it breaks, selling pressure could increase.
2. Dollar (DXY): A stronger dollar alongside rising yields would add more pressure on risk assets.
3. Fed rate expectations: The October 28 meeting is the next major event. More hot data before then could push hike odds even higher.
The market has a new problem to deal with. If inflation keeps rising, the Fed may have less room to ease policy, and BTC could continue moving with risk assets.

🔥 September CPI drops today at 12:30 UTC.
The forecast is +0.6% month over month, up from +0.4% in August. Gasoline prices jumped 7.1% in September, which is a big reason the headline number is expected to rise.
But the number I really want to see is core CPI. It excludes food and energy, and the forecast is +0.2%, down from +0.3% in August.
Here’s what matters for the market:
CPI above +0.6%: A hotter print could push Treasury yields and the dollar higher, putting more pressure on BTC and stocks.
CPI at +0.6%: That's in line with expectations. The market reaction will depend on the details, especially core inflation.
CPI at +0.4% or lower: A softer headline could help risk assets, especially if core CPI also comes in below forecast.
The Fed has already warned about energy prices feeding into broader inflation. If that starts showing up in core prices too, the inflation story gets harder to ignore.
I'm watching the actual numbers, not just the headline. The first move after the release won't always be the final one.

Gold is worth watching too. A stronger dollar can put pressure on it, but the reaction depends on yields and the wider market: $XAU https://t.co/MZZB2S9b2d

📊 ETF Flow Report | 29
US spot BTC ETFs: net inflow of $42M
ETH ETFs: net inflow of $17M
📌 When money comes in, dips get bought. When money leaves, leverage takes over. This time price moved first and ETFs followed a day or two later, so the question now is whether they keep following.
📌 The test: ETFs take in over $200M for 3 days in a row, read together with stablecoins and on-chain flows (thresholds on the poster). When all three improve together, the rally stands on firmer ground. Consecutive outflows are a warning.
