We have recently become aware of certain allegations raised by the team of an old Baby Shark Universe token regarding the licensing arrangements relating to yesterday’s Pinkfong token launch.

First, it is important to know that BSU are simply a limited licensee of Babyshark, an entirely separate IP to Pinkfong’s mascot. As a limited licensee of an entirely separate IP, BSU does not and cannot represent the views or opinions of the Pinkfong company in relation to the licensing of their mascot. It is extremely misleading for them to represent their views as official.

Secondly, the Pinkfong token was launched by another licensee and long-term business affiliate of the Pinkfong company.

This was all conducted in good faith and in close contact and with direct endorsement of Pinkfong’s co-founder.

As evidenced by the livestream and content at Origin Summit, the licensing relationship was presented openly.

This is exactly why we built this platform. Claiming or verifying an IP is a serious event that involves monetary compensation, so the last-mile due diligence is critical. IP World takes the ownership verification process seriously, hence why we practise a cooling-off period after launch to allow any competing claims that may arise post-launch to be fully vetted. We are currently in talks with the Pinkfong company and are confident of reaching a swift resolution to the concerns that have been raised.
