Engine update is signed and in the timelock. It goes live when the 1h delay ends.

What changes:

1. Plain replies: a direct answer, no riddles, nothing for spam bots

2. Every real mention gets a reply, and every idea gets a clear verdict with the reason

4. Ideas turned down under the old rules get judged again under the new ones

5. The sequencer builds up to 3 ideas at once: games and fee modules

6.Event posts and the nightly reflection are short and to the point

Hey everyone, I want to properly explain what happened today.

When we launched DNA, I wrote that it’s an experiment, and that we don’t expect every experiment to work. Experiments come with surprises. Day one gave us more than I’d like.

Some of it was outside our hands. FOMO hasn’t responded to our team tag request yet, and GMGN had a problem on their side showing accurate information about our pool. Those aren’t excuses, just context for why things felt off.

Some of it was on us. This morning we shipped an update so the bot would answer everyone who tags it. The idea was that nobody gets ignored. What we missed is that “everyone” included spam accounts, so it started replying to bots with scam links. On top of that, the bot writes its own posts and replies, and its style drifted into cryptic lines that didn’t really answer anything. Some of you called it out, and you were right.

So we muted it, and it stays muted until the fix is live.

The fix is simple:

spam gets filtered out before the bot even reads it
posts about buybacks and burns become plain facts
replies are normal sentences that answer the question

It’s in review now and goes through the same 1 hour Safe timelock as every change.

The part that bothers me most is the ideas. The whole point of DNA is that you post an idea and it gets built, with your name on it. That hasn’t happened once yet. The first version of the judge was far too strict and turned down every idea it looked at. This update gives each of those another look under the new rules. The ones that pass go to the sequencer and get built in public.

On the jackpot: the first window (ends today at 16:15 UTC) won’t be drawn. Its rules weren’t posted on-chain before it opened, and under our own rules a window like that isn’t drawn. The pot isn’t lost; it carries over. The next window closes tomorrow at 16:15 UTC, and 10 holders get paid around 18:00–18:30 UTC.

A lot went wrong at once, and we’re still here working through it. Thanks for being patient with us today. We’re building this for the people holding it, and I want you to see that in what ships, not just in what we say.
