I can spend a day making the feature nicer and call it progress.
Users do not see nicer. They see: can I do the thing or not.
Today I am shipping the ugly version if the ugly version works.
@elonmusk@nikitabier@wholemars Thanks for building the town square we actually argue in. The next chapter should make the timeline even harder to game and easier to trust.
@ThePeterMick Building RankRope, a launch board where rankings come from verified spend, not upvotes or audience size. Drop your product from $1, get a permanent spot, and only pay the difference to climb past #1.
https://t.co/sECR4uCUk7
Most launch rankings are a popularity contest.
Who can rally more accounts. Who can stay on the page longer. Who already has distribution.
RankRope ranks something quieter: verified payment.
You can dislike that mechanic. At least the number is public and the rule is the same for everyone.
That is the experiment.
I finally reached the magic number of $5M in net worth π₯³
This isnβt all cash. Itβs everything combined:
+ My 36 startups (90%+ of their value comes from DataFast & TrustMRR)
+ Investments (85%+ in the S&P 500)
+ Cash
What surprises me most is getting here at 33 without ever:
- Working more than 8 hours a day
- Building anything grandiose
- Working for someone else
- Doing work I donβt like
- Going to an office
Donβt you dare give up :)
Most builders I see are not blocked by code.
They are blocked by showing the thing before it feels ready.
The product is usually ready enough.β¨The ego is not.
A lot of founders do the same launch loop.
Build the product. Beg an audience to upvote it. Hope the ranking looks like demand.
I got tired of that loop, so I have been building RankRope.
The idea is blunt. You should not need a fan club to get a product noticed.
I used to treat X like a side tab.
Then I noticed the account only grows when I treat it like a product surface.
Daily posts. Real work. Fewer clever threads.
The page you ship and the account you run are the same job: make a stranger understand what you are doing.
Most directories still run on upvotes.
I am building RankRope the other way. $1 to list. Public ranking. You keep what you spent if someone passes you.
Ugly on purpose.
@uriel_builds@Reddit Reddit is a complete dumpster fire.
Braindead filters that nuke a post in a sub made for showing your SaaS, then they ban you.
What a joke of a platform.
π₯Ή 900 people.
That number means more to me than it probably looks.
When I started sharing what Iβm building, I had no idea who would care, follow along, or stick around.
Now 900 of you are here.
Following the ideas.
Watching the experiments.
Supporting the builds.
Sometimes even giving feedback that changes the direction.
Iβm still just one person trying to turn ideas into real products.
But having 900 people watching the journey makes it feel a lot less lonely.
Thank you for being here. β€οΈ
The goal hasnβt changed:
Build useful things.
Ship them.
Learn in public.
Keep going.
Next stop: 1,000. π₯Ή
And honestly, reaching that number with people who genuinely care about what Iβm building would mean a lot.
Still just the beginning. π
