@FHEweb@ZetaMarkets@Tristan0x@SolanaConf <5 ms soft confirmations - as soon as the tx is executed on the sequencer you will hear back so matches and u can colocate with it - it is fifo
Why are we moving off Solana L1 for our new exchange?
@ZetaMarkets has been around for a while, starting with the first functional options CLOB on DeFi, and now perps. Weโve come to realise the UX we envision would require some changes beyond what was capable on Solana L1 (despite it being best in class compared to other chains). At the same time, weโve remained true SOL maxis, and believe this is where the future of DeFi lies.
So taking the best of both worlds weโre leveraging the transparency and security of Solana L1 AND using a verifiable zkVM for off chain execution. Personally, Iโm not a fan of the ideological debate between naming conventions - we are building a network that sits on top of Solana L1 โ itโs an L2 lmao ๐คฃ, extending somewhere??
At the end of the day we hope to bridge the gap between web2 and web3 for users
You can expect these features in our new exchange:
- near instant soft confirmations (3-5ms)
- seamless one click signing via session keys / easy social login
- 50x+ leverage on multiple assets as collateral
- REST/Websocket API - integration should be identical to other CEXs
- full transparency and verifiability - with a trustless dispute mechanism
We also want to alleviate the high barrier to entry for liquidity provision, and stop the 2-3 famous toxic takers on Solana from milking our MMs dry (if you know you know) && reduce cost of quoting for MMs (costs a small fortune atm if you want to consistently land quotes and cancel in time)
We're still on Solana and this is our attempt to improve status quo for the whole ecosystem; WE'RE NOT LEAVING
can some of these crypto events give healthier food options
current diet: beef sliders, curry puffs, fried fish balls, beer, spicy fried chicken, corndog
itโs funny - i have flipped back and forth on this opinion multiple times, so i understand the philosophy. currently settled on the perspective that for the future where we onboard millions of users, we have to build for a world where the user experience is BETTER than web2. while we want to keep transparency and security at the heart of what we build, I dont want to let purist ideologies stand in the way of us from delivering the best possible products for users.
Some appchain "perp DEXes" may have smooth UX, but are just CEXes with extra steps
Drift could have done what's easy and built a closed-source appchain exchange โ but I didn't grind day and night everyday for the last 3 years on Solana DeFi to build a CEX clone
That is fundamentally against what crypto stands for
We went down the difficult and unknown path with first principles to build truly permissionless onchain DeFi rails
And Solana is the best L1 that can support a truly onchain low latency exchange
Crypto UX sucks, but it doesn't have to. Here's a teaser of what we're striving for with Zeta X:
- Social login, passkeys or BYO wallet
- No annoying tx signing popups, just click trade
- Gasless rollup transactions
- 15s bridging from @solana L1 -> L2
Smooth like butter ๐ง
