@SuperPonyBolt@TrollTrace5 @StarSun29 @bpolitics Politicians have to change their policies based on the circumstances on hand. It should be a no brainer to not give broad loan forgiveness to everyone and not stimulate a high inflation economy. The law that makes school loan debt discharge impossible should be repealed.
@TrollTrace5@SuperPonyBolt @StarSun29 @bpolitics Colleges are the biggest profiteers but given another chance, most people will take on debt and attend college since the education they received increased their earnings potential. There’s no need to discharge the debt of well paid earners including myself.
@TrollTrace5@SuperPonyBolt @StarSun29 @bpolitics It’s already been paid for but a “loan implies there’s an expectation of repayment unless debtors are in financial distress. The biggest issue with student loans is that it’s impossible to discharge.
@Deus__Abscondis@TheStudyofWar How about geothermal? Countries shouldn’t be dismantling nuclear plants when the whole world is going through an energy crisis. Some should be building more if they have very limited access to renewables.
@EvanCrum1319@EricTopol Get a cabin in the woods and avoid contact with the rest of humanity. You’ll also avoid getting infected by a whole lot of other infectious diseases too
@LauraMiers@jcarrington What’s the other option? Lockdown like Shanghai until the virus magically disappears? The virus isn’t going away so it will eventually infect everyone unless you live as a hermit.
@sorenson_danial@robert_zubrin I’d say we have done incredibly well in preventing deaths caused by famine in the past 40+ years. Vast majority of the lives saved is likely attributable to economic growth, but you will always need pure aid to prevent famine during manmade and natural catastrophes.
