The world likes to put @MagnusCarlsen on a god like pedestal. I don’t. I think he’s the most human of them all.

You just watched it. He scrambles pieces. He makes mistakes. He bangs the table when losing. He sighs he yells he gets frustrated. And through all of it he fights to do one thing WIN.

I’ve never seen a god complex from him. He doesn’t act too big to fail. He shows up with one aim and that is to win under all circumstances.

He’s willing to risk reputation rating and optics just to give everything he has over the board.

That to me is the purest spirit of a chess player. His will to win is what keeps younger players fighting to try and take him down.

IAF deeply regrets the loss of life and stands firmly with the bereaved family in this time of grief.
