🚶 BENGALURU'S FOOTPATHS ARE GETTING THEIR SPACE BACK
From July 1–10, the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) is running a 'Safe Footpath Campaign' across 1,000 km of road network — clearing encroachments from footpaths in all five city corporations.
📊 WHY THIS MATTERS
30% of every 1,000 road accident deaths in Bengaluru are pedestrians. The Supreme Court has been clear: walking on a footpath safely is a fundamental right, not a privilege.
🚫 WHAT'S BEING CLEARED
➡Illegal parking on footpaths (vehicles will be towed)
➡Name boards, chairs, tables, and kiosks blocking pedestrian paths
➡Vendors and shops spilling onto walkways
✅ HOW IT'S BEING DONE
➡Notices will be issued before any action — not a sudden crackdown
➡Action will follow the Street Vendors' Protection Act and SC guidelines
➡Municipal officers, police, and clearance teams will coordinate
➡Damaged slabs and kerbs will be repaired alongside clearance
It follows the #1KmChallenge encouraging people to walk short distances instead of driving — Bengaluru is trying to become more walkable, one footpath at a time.
🗣️ WE NEED YOUR EYES ON THE GROUND
Let's make Bengaluru's footpaths walkable again — together.

This is a moment of reckoning for Bangaloreans. If we don't support @krishnabgowda now, we will lose any last hope of revival for the city.
Bangalore's old charm was about its walkable streets and giant trees dotting the roads on both sides. Today it's a dream to find such footpaths and roads.
The only way to make Bengaluru Great Again is to reclaim it's public spaces that has turned into garbage den.
For the first time we have a politician not just talking about it but working towards making the city livable with dignity. We all must support unconditionally...

I visit a lot of Indian hardware startups.
I see a lot of JLCPCB boxes.
I always ask, "Why are you getting this done in China? Why not India? Aren't you worried your designs will be copied?"
The answer is always the same: "No Indian firm can beat Chinese prices."
I hate this answer. Not because it's inaccurate (it makes sense and I don't blame them for choosing the most affordable option, especially when they're bootstrapping). I hate this answer because I just really wish the reality were different.
And that's why I'm so glad Vishal Tejwani (@ivishaltejwani) exists. This man is singlehandedly trying to flip the script by putting affordable PCB manufacturing machines into the hands of every Indian hardware startup.
Right now he's offering three systems:
1. StencilStation - Rs. 15k
2. SolderStation - Rs. 22k
3. PlaceStation - Rs. 2 lakh
You can't beat these prices in India right now unless you build these machines yourself.
Also, big shoutout to @prakdadlani for being an early believer in Vishal's vision and implementing PlaceStation in his factory to move PCB assembly from China to India.
Claude Tag is a Trojan horse. Not because Anthropic is doing anything evil. Because the incentives are obvious.
Day one, this looks like a great feature: tag Claude in Slack, let it follow the thread, remember context, connect to tools, break down tasks, chase work, and act like a teammate.
But that is exactly the problem. The moment your AI vendor becomes a shared coworker, it stops being just a model provider. It starts becoming the place where work is interpreted, remembered, routed, and eventually executed.
That is not model lock-in. That is context lock-in. You are now renting your company back from them.
Models can be swapped. Agents can be copied. But the memory of how your company actually works is much harder, maybe impossible, to move: the Slack scar tissue, the exception paths, the customer promises, the unfinished threads, the weird workflows, the implicit owners, the “we tried that in Q2 and it failed” knowledge.
Once that lives inside one vendor’s agent layer, you are not renting intelligence anymore. You are renting your company’s operating memory.
And the pricing model makes it even more dangerous. A human coworker has a salary. Claude has unbounded tokenized activity. The more work moves through it, the more the vendor captures not just IT spend, but labor spend.
This is the enterprise bargain people will regret: Convenience now, and rapid decent into dependency.
The right architecture is simple: rent the best intelligence from whoever is best this month. OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, open source, whatever. But own the context layer.
Your company memory should be inspectable, permissioned, portable, and model-neutral. It should not be buried inside the same vendor that sells you the intelligence and the workflow surface.
Claude Tag is useful. That is why it is dangerous. Rent the intelligence, but own the context. Or, regret later.
@TimesNow@Aksharadm6@prathibhatweets Useless times now. Help the minister continue doing good work. You guys are not adding any value to the state except spreading misinformation
It’s a politically risky and unpopular decision. But, necessary for the sake of Bengaluru.
At least some footpaths should be reserved for pedestrians. I request people to respect the fundamental right of public to decent footpath. Pls voluntarily remove encroachments or obstructions. It is the law. It may inconvenience you. But, it is for the larger good.
