1000 Acres is a charity working to regenerate and protect damaged UK countryside and boost pollinator populations (Reg. Charity No. 1188244) #1000acres
Have to say, rather pleased at 1000 Acres UK HQ to see the first of our conkers sprouting new life - 1 growing, hopefully 6 more to come! #trees#charity#1000acresuk#ClimateCrisis
Everyone at 1000 Acres UK wants to wish you all a much brighter, happier, and healthier New Year.
We have published our aims for 2022 here and, as always, we are open to your thoughts and suggestions as well as any partnerships and collaborations.

@SimonStuart17@JohnthetreeWeir@WoodlandTrust This is why we are looking to create considered woodlands on areas damaged by intensive farming or commercial/industrial activities, with our first project in the south.
We would like to thank the many of you who contacted us with ideas for our projects, both positive and constructive. We can now confirm we have our first two projects set up, and ecological surveys will be starting soon! Find out more here - https://t.co/01xiXiKWOz
@graspatree@DrDavidMcGowan Thank you very much, we are really excited too! Hoping that it is very much more the months for fundraising and years for the benefit for everyone!
Good evening all - finally very pleased to announce our first two project blueprints and fundraisers. One is rewilding, one is a woodland protection. The links to the blue prints are below, or visit our website and check out our 'news' or 'projects' page.

Jacob Rees-Mogg says Keir Starmer is "utterly disrespectful to this House", for having withdrawn his comment that Boris Johnson was a coward at PMQs yesterday, only to then "scuttle like a beetle" onto Twitter to tweet it instead.
Hello all, we are in the final stages of planning for our first two projects and would love some feedback. Several people have different idea and vocal opinions as to what 'native' means when it comes to trees/plants. Therefore, what is your definition?
Once all project blueprints are published (links will appear on here) we will be more than open to any suggestions and advice people will have, both positive and negative.
Blueprints for 3 projects are almost complete to show our varied range and enable people to support different type of project:
1 - Purchase of woodland for protection
2- Purchase of monoculture meadow for trees/flowers
3- Purchase of carpark for repair
Let us know your thoughts..
@Cynfab3@AndWhitehouse@RewildingB The blueprint comes when we have all of the expert advice, and a plan for our projects. You can’t prepare one otherwise… have a great day though and stay safe.
As part of our project, we are growing our own trees as something to provide our own personal input to rewilding. Looking at horse chestnut (see yesterday’s posts), apple and pine. Does anyone have any other thoughts on what we can grow from seed?
@Cynfab3@AndWhitehouse@RewildingB We are engaging with experts in multiple fields (no pun intended) for each project to optimise everything we do. No project is perfect, we just do the best we can. We are going to say good day now and not engage with you as you seem full of nothing but negativity for our project.
@Cynfab3 It is a phrase, that’s the point of language. When we release our project blueprints, you will be able to judge for yourself and comment insightfully given the information, as to what is ‘proper rewilding’ in our sense of the words. Have a great day.
@Cynfab3@AndWhitehouse@RewildingB I’m not sure why the environmental and rewilding communities have to be so unbelievably hostile to people trying to make a real difference. We are all striving for the same thing. Why do we not all row in the same direction…?
@Cynfab3@AndWhitehouse@RewildingB If you dont like our project, or our approach (not that you can judge a project blueprint we haven’t released yet), then feel free to not engage with us. Alternatively, wait and see what we have planned and then give feedback on a real project, not just lexical peeves of yours.
@Cynfab3@AndWhitehouse Thank you for your positive and constructive comments. All of our projects, when finalised, will be very clearly described on our website for all to discuss/comment on and make decisions about supporting or not. Have a great day.
@Cynfab3@AndWhitehouse Also, in scientific literature, an absolute definition is required to reduce potential confusion. For us, a charity looking to repair damaged areas of the UK environment, it is an accessible term that allows the general population to understand what we are doing
