@ArmandDoma@nw3 Yeah and it’s really scary to realize that I’ve no real control on what comes next. Nor any idea of what I should be trying to do to prepare. I work a low level white collar gig… uh oh
@TylerDinucci I’m sympathetic to dislike of gym bro media being a breeding ground of right wing nonsense tbh. And I’m someone for whom fitness has changed my life but so much of the maha influence net has gotten into the system it’s hard to avoid and is really bad tbh.
@txsalth2o Seems like a fabulous use of state resources. We should expand the programs that make such things possible so that more families could be started while parents themselves are working to get started with their professional lives.
@toxoplasmodium You don’t have to count calories to eat well and flourish. But being aware of the caloric content of your food certainly makes food choices easier lol. Even just a framework of fats being more calorie dense than proteins and carbs is a useful heuristic.
@LinkofSunshine The maintenance on a house that old is obscene. It would overtake your life. Better off tearing it down and replacing it with a good mobile home lol
@jbillinson It’s the plight of the modern remake. The originals were made by people that read, and enjoyed art about the world, that had opinions and wanted to tell a story. The new ones are made by fans of the originals. So they don’t have the context, just the source
@hubertlepicki@Empty_America I am hard pressed to think of any American city like that. The 70’s are long gone. Even Detroit has revived from the great deindustrialization and the financial crisis. Update your assumptions, the world has changed.
@sam_d_1995@LinkofSunshine I agree while also strongly feeling that in many states the conservatorship programs are set up to allow horrific abuse to those it’s intended to protect and so also need reform when doing expansion
@attackTheChocha@Brien_Jackson You can, that’s the law as it’s currently written. Overdraft “protection” where they let the account go negative and you complete the purchase but then owe an overdraft fee is an opt in product. You have to choose it when you open the account. Opt out, and no fees.
@manchatz@Derek_duPreez And so, they have a different set of base assumptions than you do about what to expect from a hotel restaurant and code the review according to that standard.
@manchatz@Derek_duPreez Respectfully that’s a misunderstanding of American food culture. In much of the world, hotel restaurants are destinations in and of themselves. In the US that is very rarely the case and any review about a hotel breakfast is written with the understanding of what is, convenient.
@opinonhaver My firm belief is the data center backlash has little to do with then centers themselves but is rather the one identifiable choke point for people to object to AI in general.
