Yesterday — for the first time, and after important conversations with my parents — I decided to publicly reveal that my beautiful, wonderful, sweet, caring mother has been battling Alzheimer’s for a number of years. It’s a cruel disease, but she is a faithful woman who is the human opposite of cruelty.

Fighting this invisible thief through medical science and public policy has become a point of emphasis for me, so when you see me talking about it, this is why. It’s personal. Here is my interview with a doctor who was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s, who talks about some major advancements in treatment and the importance of early diagnosis.

What do all of these people have in common?

A congressman tied to a collapsing campaign. A pop star drowning in lawsuits from her own dancers. A band nobody had heard of. An activist the press stopped covering. An actress dropped by her own agency.

Every single one of them found the same exit: attack the world's only Jewish state, and watch the cameras come back.
It's the oldest trick in the book, and we keep falling for it. A fading star discovers a "conscience" at the exact moment a career requires one, and we call it courage instead of what the data says it is: a comeback strategy.

I wrote the full essay on this, with the numbers, because the numbers are damning. One influencer went from 417K followers to 2.5 million in six months. His own words: "I do everything for the clout."

None of them actually care. That's the part that should make you angriest. Not one of these people spent a day thinking about Palestinians before their relevance depended on it, and not one will spend a day thinking about them after.

The saddest part? Palestinians are being used as pawns by people chasing engagement. They deserve better than becoming someone's rebrand. And Jews deserve better than being the price of admission.

Wake up.
