The great lakes have some of the nicest lighthouses in the country. I lined the setting sun up with my drone to shine right through the glass of the lighthouse.
#WorldListeningDay
🌳🐦🌊 Whether it's the rustling of leaves in the wind, the sound of waves crashing against the shore, or the cheerful chirping of birds in the trees, there's a symphony of sound all around us waiting to be heard.
And by listening, we can connect with our environment and appreciate the natural wonders of the world.
👂 In our modern world, where natural quiet is increasingly rare, it's more important than ever that we protect this resource.
Here's a couple ways to help protect the soundscape:
🎧 use headphones if you want to listen to music or a book while walking on a trail
👨👩 as tempting as it may be, please don't yell into the canyon; yes, echos are fun but they can disturb other visitors who may be enjoying their first dose of "natural quiet" in a long time.
🌎👂 So, put down your phone, close your eyes, and take a deep breath. Listen to the world around you and appreciate all the beauty and wonder it has to offer.
