@kasratweets thanks for the summary — interesting enough that now I'm watching the lecture. something that caught my eye is the case he makes that distillation — not reasoning — is the most effective way to pass on knowledge with the example of Trump's tweets telling people how to feel.

After several attempts to get a genuine answer to the question, ChatGPT finally told me what it would dream about if it had dreams the way humans do and I thought it was beautiful:
@kasratweets during friendsgiving with my hs friends, someone said part of the reason is because we all “grew into adults” alongside each other. You can explain it to other people, but they didnt see it and you didnt see them. There’s a closeness in being there for that evolution together
@imperialauditor@kasratweets was perusing this thread and thought about replying til I saw that you already wrote exactly what my answer would be (selection bias + hotel concierge essay) 😁
Walking along the embarcadero, headphones in, talking with ChatGPT to get advice on a project. Realizing this is just like Joaquin Phoenix in the movie HER (2013). What a time to be alive. Equal parts cool and scary (once this is good enough, will people interact even less?)

@kasratweets The more I learn about how hard emotional awareness and understanding is, the more I could see this being a critical strength to build. And I’ve certainly met people who I’d describe as emotionally gifted at least
Ambition can be intoxicating, aligning, energizing. It’s thrilling to be around and to feel inspired to create. But living in CDMX, I’m slowly remembering the subtle beauty of quiet, simple moments that whisper “remember to just live.”
Observation: creating space to remember and tell stories about memorable past experiences is experientially similar to journaling but maybe more powerful emotionally — reminds you about how beautiful and amazing life is esp when it's easy to forget these moments day-to-day
I wonder if anyone thought about the toxic side of teaching kids to “follow your dreams” and “you can be anything”. When did it stop being enough to just enjoy your life?
