@HugoPhilion Good points. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong; but it seems to me that there is a lot more involved in bank transfers than just sending value via a stablecoins. Messaging, ledgers and conversions are some that come to mind. There may be more. A provider is needed.
@GodAlmaxi@s_alderoty@brian_armstrong It certainly would have a big effect, but XRP would still function. Many companies are using XRP for NFT's, Real Estate, healthcare, billing, and etc. They just don't operate in the USA yet. So when I buy XRP, which common Enterprise am I buying an implied contract with?
@GodAlmaxi@s_alderoty@brian_armstrong SPY is an ETF and a common Enterprise is a given. No so with XRP. XRP is purchased as a currency to hold value like you would with any other currency. XRP itself has no common Enterprise but is used by many, just like the dollar.
@GodAlmaxi@s_alderoty@brian_armstrong This Judge's opinion is troubling. What about the XRP purchaser who knew nothing about Ripple at the time of purchase? The purchaser who knew nothing about an implied contract. Did Ripple use that purchase to improve XRP? All of those questions are directly related to Howey.
@GodAlmaxi@s_alderoty@brian_armstrong I get your point and respect it. Farmers cultivate crops, governments and organizations market and promote the demand of gold. Jewelers use gold for rings. Software uses XRP in their software. None of these are securities despite a supposed implied contract.
A securities agency only has jurisdiction over securities. No security, no role for the SEC.
Pretending to have jurisdiction when there is none, is simply a political power play. It helps no one; it hurts everyone.
@GodAlmaxi@s_alderoty@brian_armstrong Is there a contract? Is there a legal obligation? Most commodities, including orange groves, have employees that will work to improve the product.
@cryptoassetsguy One thing that I've learned from crypto. Marketcap is determined by Price, price is determined by demand, demand is determined by buyers and sellers. Seriously, who will be willing to sell when XRP is mooning? Not many, not until the price is irresistible.
@MasonVersluis Buy the news....Ripple purchases Metaco, Hinman emails, Ripple investment into decentralized fund, Ripple announces CBDC platform, Banks are struggling, BRICS is surging, US default on debt, SEC v Ripple case judgement or Settlement coming soon. All reasons to buy.
@SirClownSniper@TromeXrp@Alex36788137@25hoursawake I had over 100 Bitcoin and I knew I made a killing at $75 a coin. That's when I learned that Marketcap is driven by price, and that price is driven by demand. Price will rise until people sell. So who will be the first to sell XRP? Not many, at least until the price is crazy.
