UFC has become a global phenomenon by embracing values that resonate far beyond the Octagon: excellence, discipline, opportunity, and meritocracy.
Proud to launch a new Sports Diplomacy partnership with @UFC and grateful to host @DanaWhite for the signing of our MOU.
@THATBOYMMAGURU Justin and Ilia were getting at it and he kept interrupting @THATBOYMMAGURU you were just complaining about the McAffee guy interrupting all the time, same here
@TheCriticalDri2 Love this response from Hugh Laurie 😂!. Because we could make the exact same argument about pretty much every procedural TV show ever made. The genre just isn't for her.
@TheCriticalDri2 She should be proud!, like she said she put the work, it is not easy to look fit (men or women) it requires discipline and effort. Good for her. Also it is not like it was distasteful or anything like that.
@fandompulse Yes she is right and should be proud, like she said she put the work, it is not easy to look fit (men or women) it requires discipline and effort. Good for her. Also it is not like it was distasteful or anything like that.
@uncrownedcombat It definitely affects it. You see it in every sport. The famous “contract year” athlete suddenly looks the best they ever been 😂
Then the big deal comes and sometimes the drop is VERY noticeable.
So yes, money absolutely affects motivation and effort.
I agree tbh. The Netflix card felt more like a legends exhibition than an actual fight card. Half the matchmaking looked designed for one-sided wins, the crowd was ok, and every wide shot kept showing those empty seats :p
The Apex at least feels loud and raw. The netflix card felt like a card built on nostalgia.
You could put Machine Gun Kelly vs Druski and it would do similar numbers btw. This was just a freak show, exploitative, corporate cash grab. It had little to do with the sport of MMA.
What new comers? Most of the card here where veterans and retirees. UFC pays more for them. Then even if the paid more to whatever newcomers here it was just a little more (I checked), for one card of the year, while ufc has 40+ cards. You want a few paid a little more per year or lots more fighters paid per year
@MMAJunkie There aren’t enough retired UFC stars or UFC castoffs names with some drawing power to "take over" with nostalgia cards. Specially after a pretty mediocre event with half-empty seats.
@thechek182@espnmma@danawhite Either you work for MVP or you are just not watching the card. Saying that was ‘infinitely better’ than the UFC events is false, it's not even better than the weakest numbered event
@blockchain_brah@THATBOYMMAGURU I thought that at first but it is half empty, earlier they do a shot to the stands, those aereal shots and you could see clearly all the empty seats. It was before the fight prior to Francis, so maybe there is a little more people now, but def not full
