@BrianTycangco Remollona is failing at his mandate to control inflation. Shouldn't he be penalized with a salary deduction, maybe a 95% cut? Then that money be given to ordinary folks to jumpstart their savings coz inflation is making it hard to save?
@daxlucas If Mynt truly has a "very exciting story", why won't AC or GLO buy (in a non-IPO setting) the shares the early investors want to sell? AC and GLO have the cash and ability to do this. If Mynt is truly valuable, shouldn't AC or GLO want to own more? Why share with the public?
@bilyonaryo_ph In corporate finance, this is an excellent example of "agency problem" and "moral hazard" issue. Keep up the bad work dennis! It's good material for case studies!! You'll be immortalized 😅
@mangunonmarkets Do Globe or Ayalas not want to increase their ownership of the "No. 1 finance super app in PH" by buying out the exiting early investors? Shouldn't they want to own more of a decacorn that has "operational excellence fueling profitability & long-term growth"? Just wondering 😅
@miguelrcamus Underdog in sports: the up and coming who is challenging the established champs.
Privileged background: nobody is contesting that. If anything at all, it's great that Alex is doing something great with her privileged background instead of squandering it.
@InsiderPHdotcom This illustrates why a "Magnificent Seven level of premium" in the P/E ratio at PhP 10 IPO price is not very realistic. An IPO at around PhP 6 is more reasonable, which gives realistic upside based on P/E.
@InsiderPHdotcom Villar family companies are excellent materials for case studies on failed IPOs, severe value destruction, stocks trading below par value, and how not to run a business. Keep up the bad work!! 😅😅😅
@InsiderPHdotcom And there should also be no reason to worry that GCash is projected to be worth more than GLO or AC ... simply because "why not?" It all goes back to the valuations done by the private investors: nobody wants to look like they made a mistake.
@InsiderPHdotcom Hmmm there's more than PhP 3 trillion in deposits just among BDO, BPI, and MBT. There's more than enough "local money". It's hard to believe that the institutional investors don't have the money to buy into a GCash IPO if it REALLY IS valued properly at $8 billion ...
@InsiderPHdotcom The other perspective: is GCash overvalued at $8 billion, thus making it difficult to find more upside beyond $8 billion? If GCash really is valuable beyond $8 billion, then there should be no reason to worry about whether the market can absorb it or not at the 20% float ...
