@TheNazarene_ ~ time in darkness.
He doesn't feel the need to speak; he knows that Jesus will sense him. Know him. He takes a moment to release his vice grip on his pride, and he lays his head in Jesus's lap.
@TheNazarene_ Ah, there he is. Precisely where Judas had expected to find him. If nothing else, he is...predictable. It's comforting, in a way. Safe.
Judas takes a seat at his side, allowing for the pretense that he is also here to bask in the shade. As if he doesn't spend enough of his ~
@TheNazarene_ "Ah, yes. The prophecy." He sneers. "Wouldn't want to stray from that. What a merciful god, to dirty my hands with his crimes in the name of a prophecy that he designed."
@TheNazarene_ Judas looks down at him, an apology in his eyes. He hadn't meant to be so harsh. His temper these days is even shorter than it used to be.
"We have to play the hands we're dealt."
@TheNazarene_ "I can't be around you when you insist on shunning the truth. Hope will get us nowhere, not in our position. What's past is past. You have to accept that."
@TheNazarene_ "Five minutes of what? Delusion? And for what?" Judas shoves the wine back at Jesus and stands.
"You haven't changed as much as you think."
@TheNazarene_ "I'm afraid Hell would disagree," Judas mutters, lifting his head.
"This denial is dangerous. Eventually, you'll have to accept the way things are. The way they have to be. We can'tโjust. We can't."
