Why is vertical jump testing one of the most important test when assessing an athlete?

Purely because it is the sole test that has the shortest time window to express the most amount of force.

Now compare that to sports... Swinging a bat, throwing a ball, beating a guy off the line, swinging a golf club, etc. How fast can I go from 0-100?

When you look at our leader board of top 8 athletes in the categories - Jump Height and Peak Propulsive Power - you will find common similarities among all of them. They grade out exceptionally high in sprint speed, exit velo, or throwing velo.

The goal of the weight room is to get every athlete to hit these elite metrics so they can *build the engine* as big as possible. It is then up to their skill coaches to help them learn how to apply forces at the right time, increase sequencing efficiency, or clean up movement patterns in their sport.

Everyone on this list either throws 92 to 96mph off the mound, runs a sub 6.5 60yd dash, or EV's 105+. There is also no one at our gym *tested so far* that can hit any of these metrics that is not in our top 8.

These metrics matter.
Build the engine.
Make the bar bend.
Move extremely well.
