PLAYERS: A bad coach doesn't make you have a bad attitude. A good coach doesn't make you have a good attitude. Only you can choose your attitude. Circumstances may make things harder or easier but not impossible or automatic. Your attitude shouldn't be situational.
Coaches: It doesn’t matter how long you’ve coached or how much you know about your sport. Real relationships will drive real motivation. If you don’t take the time to get to know the kids you coach, how can you know the best, most effective ways to teach, lead & motivate them?

Kids have to learn to dig deep, struggle & fight their way out of adversity. You can put them on every kind of competitive team, get them a trainer/the best equipment/extra practice, but if they can’t claw their way past troubles that WILL come, they’ll never develop as athletes!
PLAYERS: Your coaches, teammates, or situations may not be what you'd like but that shouldn't keep you from doing what you're supposed to do. Don't lose sight of your responsibility as an athlete. Bring effort, energy, a coachable spirit, and an attitude of improvement every day.

Parents,
-Don’t focus your attention on how MUCH your child plays but HOW they are playing.
-Would you look forward to being a teammate of your child if you were on the team ?
-Are they playing with JOY or are they playing feeling useless pressure ?
- Are they improving?
The greatest strength you can have as an athlete is the ability to bet on yourself.
