Here is our recent third interpretation of the lease, by a lawyer commissioned by the freeholder, with plans to raise leaseholder fees by 2/3rds off the back of it. However it’s being challenged by others on the estate, so might be a fourth on its way
Good to catch up with Housing Minister, Lee Rowley to discuss forthcoming #Leasehold Reform Bill & why it’s so important for Cities of London & Westminster. Lee & I were elected @Conservatives councillors together in 2006 for @CityWestminster so he fully understands the issues.
Glad to hear the government is finally getting round to sorting out the UK's leasehold mess. When you buy a property you should own the property. Lets hope it delivers.
@A2DominionHelp our lift is out of action - we suggested when first moved in that the lift had been incorrectly fitted. @HousingOmbuds recently looked at this issue for us and found in our favour
@CBRE - I understand @A2DominionHelp are waiting on you to help fix leaks in the private block at Rathbone Square. @twocitiesnickie has already had to mention CBRE in Parliament once, can we avoid having to escalate again? There is no excuse for such a slow approach.
@twocitiesnickie many thanks Nickie for raising our case in the House - still no response from @CBRE despite promising to action by 4 June. Affordable residents also waiting for their service charge to be reduced back to the original correct levels as per A2 lawyers’ advice
In the Commons, I raised the case of @14NewmanStRA who are being charged 5️⃣x more than their private neighbours for their energy and called for a complete shake up to leasehold reform and property management.
Watch what I had to say 👇 with @redditchrachel. #TwoCities
Thanks @twocitiesnickie for hosting a really useful meeting between @A2DominionHelp and @CBRE - we look forward to CBRE taking forward their actions by 4 June deadline which has been set
