For whom the day of Ashura is a day of grief, sorrow and crying, Allah, Mighty and Exalted, will make the Day of Resurrection a day of joy and happiness for him ~ Imam Reza (as)

Ja'far ibn Isa, told us: I asked Imam Reza (as) about fasting on the day of 'Ashura and what people say about it. He asked me about fasting on the day of Ibn Marjana, may God curse him. Only the claimants from the family of Ziyad fasted on the day that Husayn (as)
while the family of Muhammad (sawa) considered it a day of ill omen. Anyone who fasts and blesses these two days will meet God with a wiped heart, and his resurrection will be with those who fast and bless these two days.
