Gays who no longer recognise a movement supposedly representing us, are told to shut up by these same people who’d rather protect those who want to kill us than the victims of extremism.

They do not care about gays as people. They care about us as characters in a political story. The second reality interferes with that story, they play the victim.

A Georgia police supervisor was just arrested for using Flock cameras to track her boyfriend's vehicle more than 30 times.

Flock Safety cameras are license plate readers mounted at intersections, neighborhood entrances, and parking lots. They photograph every vehicle that passes. log the plate, make, model, color, location, and timestamp. upload it to a searchable database accessible by thousands of law enforcement agencies nationwide.

no warrant required to search it. no oversight on how many times you search. no alert sent to the person being tracked.

The supervisor just searched. 30 times. for her boyfriend.

this is at least the 19th documented case of a law enforcement officer using Flock cameras to stalk or surveil someone for personal reasons.

19 confirmed. documented. arrested or investigated.

Flock says it has internal safeguards. In almost none of these cases did the safeguards catch anything. The patterns were discovered after the fact. by audits. by victims. by https://t.co/zyZV3pgFr0, a civilian website that Flock has repeatedly tried to shut down.

The reason the number is 19 and not 190 is not that it only happened 19 times.

it's because most searches never get audited.

Most targets never know to look.

And every search log accepts whatever reason the officer types.

Flock is in over 5,000 law enforcement agencies. tens of thousands of cameras. accessible by hundreds of thousands of officers.

The safeguard between that database and your location history

is the integrity of the person searching it.

BREAKING: A Redditor just discovered that shared Claude conversations have been showing up in public search results.

The post has 4K upvotes and hundreds of comments, so this is spreading fast.

Here's what actually matters for you. Every time you hit "Share" on a Claude or ChatGPT chat, that creates a public page. Not a private link. A public page that search engines can crawl like any other website. Most people who've used share links have never been told this.

Some of those pages look to be dropping out of search results already, so this may be getting cleaned up on the platform side. Don't count on it. Unsharing is the only thing that actually takes the page down, and a cached copy can outlive the fix.

In 2015 Lenovo shipped laptops with software that broke HTTPS for every user.

Installed deliberately for ad revenue.

Lenovo pre-installed a piece of adware called Superfish on consumer laptops starting September 2014. Its purpose was to scan every image you view on the internet and inject ads for similar products.

To do that on HTTPS pages, it needed to intercept your encrypted traffic.

So it did something catastrophic.

it installed itself as a trusted root certificate authority on your laptop. Meaning your browser treated Superfish as a trusted source of certificates, the same level of trust as VeriSign, DigiCert, or your bank's own certificate authority.

Everything you did over HTTPS- banking, email. shopping. medical records was being decrypted by Superfish, analyzed for images, and re-encrypted before it reached you.

then it got worse.

Every Lenovo laptop shipped with the exact same certificate and the exact same private key.

The password protecting that private key was cracked in three hours by Security researcher, Rob Graham (Errata Security).

The password was "komodia."

The name of the Israeli company that made the code.

Once cracked, anyone with that private key could impersonate any website to any Lenovo user on earth. your bank. your email. any HTTPS site. a fake page would show a valid padlock and your browser would trust it completely.

Lenovo's initial response: "we have thoroughly investigated this technology and do not find any evidence to substantiate security concerns."

Then the password was posted publicly online.

Lenovo paid $7.3 million to settle the class action lawsuit.

The EFF called it "catastrophically irresponsible."

Crazy stuff.
