The development of efficient zk-SNARKs has given rise to many interesting applications, which can help solve the problems of privacy and scalability in decentralized ledgers.
For example, we can delegate an expensive computation to an untrusted server and check that it has been correctly executed. To that end, the code has to be converted into arithmetic circuits.
