Heiress of Collinwood’s New York estate. Prone to various ailments. I am not sure what life is about, nor love really… 💔 Dark Shadows RP 18+ @DarkShadowsSoC
@JoshuaC98273234@NatalieduPres A noble voice echoed in her skull. 'Curse'. 'Curse'. It was the countess' voice, reverberating dully like a headache. The heiress tossed, and turned. In the morning she undid the cap, and found it had been a little too tight.
A new day brewed.

Millicent and Daniel sat in a carriage. Her brother had opened a window on the vehicle's side, letting in a gust of frigid autumn air. Millicent shivered. "Ohh. Daniel, will you not shut the window?" Hearing the tremor in her voice, he did so immediately...

@JoshuaC98273234@NatalieduPres As she did so, she realized that the flower was gone. The heiress brushed her ear forlornly. It must have fallen somewhere outside... Blowing out the bedside candle, Millicent softened into the mattress. She fell asleep, dreaming of a more Mediterranean climate...

@JoshuaC98273234@NatalieduPres "Apple pie... it is rather late to be eating -- is it not?" Daniel caught her eye. Clearly, he was looking forward to said apple pie. "Very well. We shall need two forks." Turning to cousin Joshua... "Oh. Three, sir?" She smiled, wondering if her cousin Joshua indulged in sweets.
@JoshuaC98273234@NatalieduPres "Ah! I do not blame them, not at all..." Millicent watched as the unruly-looking servant (Stokes) took her suitcase from her. This he did without any prompting... The heiress was impressed. If she had known the man was an ex-convict, she may have had a different reaction.

@JoshuaC98273234@NatalieduPres Already, the chill she had felt outside had disappeared. She needn't have worried. It was apparent that the servants worked diligently to keep the mansion well-lit, and warm. "How are you? Are you well? Are the residents all-asleep?" She inquired.

@JoshuaC98273234@NatalieduPres Daniel looked at Millicent with uncertainty before crossing the threshold.
"Good evening, sir!" Millicent replied. She took off her hat, furnishing it underneath her left arm. "I am... fatigued. It has been a long journey."

@NatalieduPres Millicent nodded at the Countess. As she and Daniel approached Collinwood, she expected (or at least hoped) for better treatment from the servants at Collinwood. At present, she found herself at the door. @JoshuaC98273234
@NatalieduPres the servant. But not before placing the Michaelmas daisy behind her right ear. There it gleamed, as white and pure as a Lily. Now the heiress felt well and ready to enter the grand estate. She beckoned to her brother, and he obediently retreated from the flower-hedges.

@NatalieduPres She turned to the Countess. “Well-mannered, and thoughtful. I cannot imagine life without him.” Again, a tremor found itself in her voice. Millicent had few prospects, in spite of her inheritance. She was both unwedded and an orphan. This boy was her only source of joy.

@NatalieduPres The heiress was about to make inquiries as to life in France, when her younger brother interrupted. “This is for you,” he said (planting a Michaelmas daisy in her open palm). She opened her mouth to reprimand him, but found herself thanking him instead...

@NatalieduPres "It would not surprise me if I were catching a fever. And right before the celebrations… Oh, no!" The young heiress shook her head from side-to-side vehemently. “It is too terrible to consider; to even consider!” By the time Millicent had finished, Daniel had wandered off.

@NatalieduPres Gazing at the fur-trimmed shawl again, Millicent unconsciously adjusted her black capelet. It had protected her from rain during a part of the journey. Yet, a chill was now bothering her. “Do you not find this weather to be disagreeable? I do," she confessed.
