@JezClein Wouldn't be No1 choice for sale start of summer but with Tim injury presumably lack of bids for Alvarez Patterson etc sometimes needs must etc and a change of plan needed, don't think we've received a solitary fee for a player yet so sthg gotta give
@JezClein Not about being skint it's just working within limits entirely feasible that hypothetically selling JOB for say 25 funds downpayments this summer on 2 or 3 players inc his replacement
@NSNO25@joe_thomas18@Paddy_Boyland Gordon and Anderson just made huge profits for Newcastle and Forest in space of a few years, get the hype argument but just think the reality under these rules most clubs looking around every year for a good saleable asset to offset buys a bit and managers are having to accept it
@daviddownie17@WinnieMick1978@FonzyXXV No I genuinely don't know that? But I mean the defence/team as a whole need a captain, I personally think if o'brien and branthwaite had a run together it would soon become clear we were missing Tarkowski but all opinions isn't it, think the club deserve more faith personally
@NSNO25@joe_thomas18@Paddy_Boyland Let's see who we actually get bids for but the sell players whose value will likely double in a few years is the absolute blue print across the league now , and yeah it's depressing but it's absolutely not an Everton thing
@daviddownie17@WinnieMick1978@FonzyXXV Better individual player aye but learning experience leadership etc obviously a thing most good defences have a clear leader, ideal if branthwaite stays and becomes that for when Tarkowski finishes but leadership not a sure thing despite his ability
@daviddownie17@WinnieMick1978@FonzyXXV Tarkowski and Branthwaite is by far our best partnership right now. Yes there will be injuries and Tarkowski level may be (slowly) declining but sure Branthwaite learning loads from a good leader who our fans seem to really be underestimating now
@NSNO25@joe_thomas18@Paddy_Boyland But who else currently in our squad that is surplus right now could we attract good money for? If selling O'Brien helps us keep Branthwaite longer who is absolutely levels above him than that's sensible business to me
@joe_thomas18@Paddy_Boyland Yes and doesn't this help fund the regeneration of squad so far this summer and go towards a RB presumably maybe a CB? Vuskovic at spurs maybe more suitable example? Holding players for future harder to do these days
@PatricRidge Just look around football at minute all clubs forced to sell players years ago they'd liked to have keep and develop, regardless of if player happy or not. Different mindset needed, is very much necessary to sell every year , and our level it's assets you'd like to keep ideally
@Benjwinst Or...the reality of modern football finance which you profess to understand...many clubs being forced to sell first choice players to balance books, us looking to sell a back up defender for good money...
@antonjbenson@Benjwinst I also fancy us to do very well this season if we can sustain our heads through the inevitable tough patches our younger players will experience. And btw if only Rohl had a good example at club to learn from who is class at CM or RB eh, but attributes in both roles too different
@antonjbenson@Benjwinst You're screwed if that bet involves Scottish football as his mate who he needed to tell him Johnston would be a good signing would have you off all day, presumably Scottish football KO times clashes with all that German Youth football expert Benj watches
@JezClein@nataliebargery Or maybe the issue could just be the preconceived negativity of sections of our fanbase towards the manager and anything he says, which feels very familiar. Moyes clearly not a favourite of yours which is your right, doesn't mean every word he utters should be slaughtered
