@TFinnAgain@greenie1878 Agree it’s ridiculous. Punished 3 times if you include loss of prize money from the point deduction season.
I’m just at the point where, if EFC aren’t actually bearing the cost of this, and it creates a complete shitstorm for the PL, City & Chelsea then good… fuck ‘em.
@Cristrom17@Skullclubco@Junsy_EFC@LowerTiers The League Title & the European Cup are the true elite trophies. Tottenham have 2….
Less than EFC, Villa, NUFC, S’land, Leeds, Forest, Hudds… I could go on.
London centric media has always given Spurs attention. And they now have a lot of commercial power. But who’s arsed
@PhilHumber1@spanishblueye@itvpeston@MartinSLewis Exactly. I’m sure ML wouldn’t disagree with you, but it would be a political position, and he’s very consistent on not taking political positions.
@ArchiveWembley@englandstats Germany semi was meant to be in London, so yeah it was a straight swap. Very controversial in Liverpool at the time, as we were still all big England fans back then!
Beckenbauer smashing one in the top corner from 25 yards in the WC SF is one of Goodisons finest moments though.
@dariocalcio77@HLTCO And people have no idea that the ECWC was always more prestigious than the UEFA Cup.
Aberdeen won the ECWC and then beat Hamburg (European Cup winners) in the Super Cup final for example.
@Benjwinst@CharlieBarnicle@friedkingroup Funny that the pro Moyes camp have spent weeks handpicking stats to make out that Glasner & Iraola are no better than him.
Now they’ve been snapped up by Liverpool & Milan, and it’s “see, they were out of our league anyway!”
@GavinBuckland1@terry__smith@GaryBri99293774 Yep that’s right. Brighton likely to become the next one, as they’ll be favourites for Conf League.
Worried this little period will pass us by, the same way 2008-2013 did when 5 or 6 clubs ended droughts in the domestic cups.
@efc_cain I’m sure they’d both be an upgrade but I’m not convinced taking both full backs from 3rd leakiest defence in the league is a great idea.
Surely there are better options out there?
@GavinBuckland1@terry__smith@GaryBri99293774 Can’t argue with that. There’s a long history of why we are long past competing with Liverpool, United et al.
But it’s not the reason why we can’t compete for *anything*. 16 clubs have won 1+ major trophies since our last. That’s what drives the anger imo.
@SimonFlynnefc@BillEvram I don’t expect trophies, but I expect the club to prioritise trying to win them. This year, like many others, was inexcusable.
10 English clubs have won a major trophy since May 2023. Brighton will likely make that 11 next year. Heartbreaking to see us left behind.
@EFCUTT78@NellyIsTheGOAT@EvertonAllSorts Coleman’s peak was 2012-2015ish. I think only 13/14 you could honestly say he was best in the league.
Zabaleta & Trippier both far better careers sadly.
