American mathematician my calculations of orbital mechanics as a NASA employee were critical to the success of the first and subsequent U.S. crewed spaceflights
This may be controversial, don’t attack me I’m 101 😩
I think astronomy discoveries and calculations that happen in more modern times are more impressive, with all the technology keeping tabs with us it’s much harder to discover something totally new #thinkaboutit

Did you know for a spacecraft to successfully travel we have to calculate its trajectory while accounting for the pull of gravity, there are a lot of moving parts in spacecraft launching, it has to be perfect 👏🏽
It’s one of my biggest blessings in life, my kids tell me now that even when I was busy at work I’d make time to come home and spend time with them, no work at all, to hear that your dedication to your children meant something to them is the greatest achievement of all time☺️
I calculated the exact trajectory to the moon, the exact orbit it would take to travel around our Earth using only my brain, and raised three young daughters at the same time, guess you could say I’m doing more than newton #mathandmadness
