@SciRocker My son texted earlier that we should go to an LSU football game in Baton Rouge this year. Cheapest tickets for game against Auburn, in nosebleed section, are $125. When I was at LSU from ‘72-‘75, GOOD seats were…$7. General cost of living has grown nowhere near that.
@SciRocker We rarely go to concerts anymore. Cost of tickets is prohibitive unless you want to sit five miles away from the stage.
Saw Ian Anderson circa 2014 & got good tickets for reasonable price. Cured me of wanting to sit out in the boondocks no matter how (relatively) inexpensive.
@SciRocker Been that way for awhile. It's another symptom of wealth inequality in my opinion.
In 2013 my son & I went to a Stanley Cup final game in Boston. Tickets were just a few rows from the top of the arena. Nearly $600/ticket. Bucket list item that won't be repeated.
@SoSofieFatale Actually I like west texas for the dark skies. The paucity of people is just a bonus. Of course, the low population is why there are dark skies, though even that is being negatively impacted by bright lights used by 24/7 fracking operations.
@ejthies15 Chik-Fil-A is SO overrated. Can’t imagine why anyone would want to imitate them. If you want to imitate fast food chicken it should be Popeyes.
@gregolear But they were doing this long before anyone referred to them as fascists, etc. In fact, there were occasions when Obama was described as fascist and authoritarian.
