A tiny 2% tax on wealth above £10m, is a drop in the ocean for just 20k Brits - but would raise £24Bn with which we could do so much. Rachel Reeves needs to be brave, understand the people want this - even millionaires want this and there’s nothing to fear. If we think there is let’s change our tax rules and make them like the USA - citizens pay tax back home wherever in the world they choose to live. Problem solved.
@merlin_moo That is what Lulu and her Dad tell me with the added line that she is going to be working hard all day needs to keep her energy levels up (to run rings around her Mum).
Dr Rupa Huq MP, "Robbie Gibb, a former director of comms for the Conservatives and has owned a
newspaper while on BBC board"
"That's a breach of IPC guidelines"
"He wields a lot of power.. And he is openly partisan"
"That is concerning"
"We should be very proud of the BBC. It's our national broadcaster. A public broadcaster"
"And it's so big. Cbeebies is different to Radio 1Xtra is very different to the world service is very different to the radio times"
"President Trump saying it's fake news. That's just bunkum"
Zarah Sultana drops the truth bomb on #BBCQT: The super rich are laughing as wages stagnate.
The top 50 richest UK families hold more wealth than 34M people. . This extreme, vampiric inequality is a political choice that could be fixed with a wealth tax.
Having sat for four and a half hours waiting to speak on one of my amendments to the Assisted Dying Bill, we ran out of time. So I at least grabbed a moment at the end to challenge Charlie Faulkner on his insistence that the Mental Capacity Act is a tried and trusted method of proving capacity to ask the state to end your life. This is so dangerous. My Mum, with dementia, was judged to have capacity in relation to treatments. Fair enough. But even if she had capacity to give consent in the moment to her own, state-sanctioned death, she would have forgotten it five minutes later. This Bill isn't safe and neither are its sponsors. Lord Faulkner completely misinterpreted me. Grrr. More next Friday.

The BBC’s silly and unnecessary editing mistake does not change the FACT that Trump encouraged and inspired the violence that led to death and devastation on Jan 6 after he LOST the election. That should be made clear in all communications to his Mafia style lawyers and to the public. He has zero case and that should be communicated with absolute confidence, with the full and voluble backing of 🇬🇧government. And all those who are encouraging and exhorting a foreign felon leader to take down one of Britain’s greatest institutions should never have the gall to call themselves patriots again. Thank you for your attention to this matter
Today, two pupils I once taught in PE pulled on a Scotland shirt at under 19 and under 21 level ⚽. Watching them reach a stage so many fall short of, thanks to the glorious chaos of teenage life, felt like seeing a promise finally kept. Proud doesn’t quite cover it. Cmon 🏴

Ken Clarke, "It's wrong to mix up sexual abuse against women with the immigration crisis" #BBCQT
*Look at Danny Kruger's face, not impression b Clarke pointing out the two are different*
"I'm proud to live in a society which is multicultural, multiethnic, and compared to most other countries we are quite harmonious, tolerant, we've managed it"
"London is a very successful city in that respect, long may it remain so"
"But we do have an immigration problem, it goes back to the Boris Johnson wave"
"It goes back to the points based visa system, which at one point increased our population by a million people a year coming here for jobs with their families. Exacerbated by those coming over on small boats"
Brexit ending freedom of movement let to the 1 million legal immigrants a year
Brexit ended freedom of movement with the EU replacing it with a points based system
This issue was created by Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson and both of them campaigning to take the UK out of the EU with Brexit
The upcoming Animal Welfare Strategy must include a clear plan to phase out cages for hens and farrowing crates for pigs.
These crates are so small that sows can’t even turn around. These practices must end and farmers must be supported with the transition

📢 The Royal College of Psychiatrists have said they want "nothing whatever to do with" assisted suicide, according to Baroness Butler-Sloss.
The vast majority of people do not want to see this dangerous Bill become law. The Lords has a duty to reject the Bill outright.
