Student hostels?
Yes this huge plot at premium Bandra was reserved for a student hostel in 1967 by Maharashtra govt
In 1983 MH Congress govt just gave it to National Herald
Now it's a commercial building owned by Young India Company of Rahul Gandhi
He paid 0 rupees for it

DRDO Invites Indian Industry to Build ‘Air-Breathing’ Engines for VLEO Satellites 🇮🇳⚡️
DRDO is seeking industry proposals to develop an indigenous Air-Breathing Electric Propulsion system that could help Indian satellites remain operational in very low Earth orbit without relying entirely on stored propellant.
> Designed for satellites operating at altitudes of 180–230 km
> Collects residual atmospheric gases and uses them as propellant
> Hall-effect thruster identified as the preferred technology
> Required thrust output ranges from 12–25 mN
> Power consumption must remain below 1,500 watts
> Complete system must weigh less than 40 kg
> Minimum targeted operational life is three years
> At least 75% indigenous content is required
> Indian start-ups, MSMEs and private industries can participate through DRDO’s Technology Development Fund
Operating closer to Earth can provide sharper imagery, lower communication latency and reduced radiation exposure... but atmospheric drag makes maintaining such orbits extremely difficult.
👉 If successful, this technology could allow Indian satellites to effectively “breathe” the upper atmosphere, continuously counter orbital drag and remain in VLEO for years... strengthening India’s sovereign surveillance, communication and Earth-observation capabilities.

🚨 Russia showcases PD-8 engine for the first time in India
The PD-8 is the first fully Russian-made engine for the SJ-100 — the jet India wants to build on its soil.
It contains zero Western components.
✨🇨🇳This is aerogel produced by a Chinese company.
The video shows its extreme heat insulation performance: when one side is blasted by a flame reaching nearly 1,000°C, the other side stays at just 35°C, and the person behind it feels no heat at all.😯
Every Indian should know this one, and here is why.
Five students from IIT Madras just got a patent granted by the toughest patent office in the world. :)
Now here is what they actually invented.
See, satellites look at Earth two ways.
The first is a normal camera, just a very good one.
Sharp, full colour, easy to read. The catch is it needs sunlight and clear sky. Clouds block it. Night blocks it. Smoke blocks it.
Over India during the monsoon, it is basically blind for months.
The second is radar.
It fires radio waves at the ground and reads the echo. Radio waves pass straight through cloud, smoke and darkness, so radar works at 3 am in heavy rain.
But the picture it gives you is grey and strange. It shows shape and texture, not colour. Reading it takes a lot of training.
So one gives you a beautiful image you often cannot capture. The other gives you an image you can always capture but struggle to understand.
The fix obviously is to combine them.
People tried for years and it did not work well, for a simple reason.
The two images came from different satellites. The camera photographed a field at 10 in the morning from one angle. The radar satellite scanned it at 4 in the afternoon from a different angle. Lay one over the other and nothing lines up.
Different time, different position, different view. You are not looking at the same moment.
GalaxEye's patent covers a way to put both sensors on one satellite and make them fire together. Same instant, same patch of ground, same angle.
The invention is the architecture that keeps the two locked in.
The same technology was already patented in India. Now the US has recognised it too. The company says this makes it the first Indian startup to hold a US patent for satellite imaging technology.
Obviously there are plenty of applications for that technology like defence radars to see through camouflage and tree cover.
In farming, the technology will allow us to watch crops during monsoon, exactly when normal satellites cannot see.
Interestingly, the idea came from a real problem. Suyash Singh was assessing wildfire damage in California using satellite data.
The camera images were useless because of the smoke. The radar images were available but were hard to interpret.
Now you understand why the solution is simply genius. :)
GalaxEye was founded in 2021 by five IIT Madras alumni. Suyash Singh, Denil Chawda, Kishan Thakkar, Pranit Mehta and Rakshit Bhatt.
They met while building Team Avishkar Hyperloop.
In 2019 that team was the only Asian entry to reach the finals of SpaceX's global hyperloop competition. They built India's first self propelled hyperloop pod.
Then they decided to build satellites instead. Incubated at IIT Madras, based in Bengaluru, backed by Mela Ventures, Speciale Invest, ideaForge and Rainmatter.
On 3 May this year they launched Mission Drishti on a Falcon 9. The world's first OptoSAR satellite. At around 190 kg it was India's largest privately built Earth observation satellite at the time.
So, five people who were students seven years ago had an original idea, patented it in India, built the hardware, flew it on a Falcon 9 and then got the invention recognised by the US patent office.
Amazing! 🇮🇳

Disha Salian’s Father As Death Case Heads to CBI
In a major legal victory and a Republic Big Impact, the Bombay High Court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to register an FIR and probe the death of celebrity manager Disha Salian.
This major directive comes after Disha’s father, Satish Salian, filed a petition alleging suspicious circumstances behind her demise in June 2020.
The Bombay High Court has ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the 2020 death of Disha Salian, prompting an emotional response from her father. The ruling follows a petition alleging investigation lapses by the Mumbai Police and political cover-up surrounding the case. You can read more about the case details in the available reports.

Here is the payment schedule of compensation money under SC/ST act:
25%: On filing FIR (within 7 days)
50%: When police chargesheet is sent to court
25%: When accused is convicted by court
Means 75% money is given, before accused are even convicted.
Remember:
1. Conviction rate under this act is very low
2. There is no mechanism to recover 75% compensation money already paid, when the case is proven fake in court
So basically we are distributing free money under this scheme!!
& Destroying lives of many innocent people in this process!!

This is how Bharat's agencies cracked Shahzad Bhatti–linked, ISI-backed terr0r network—and details are reminder of how modern terr0r networks operate.
An Op personally supervised & coordinated by HM .@AmitShah Ji.
According to a former NIA official speaking to News18, investigators did not discover one neatly organised terr0r module. They followed a chain of seemingly unrelated activities, identified common links and gradually mapped the wider network.
The alleged network combined Pakistan-based handlers, gangsters, local recruits, reconnaissance operatives, weapons suppliers and people involved in logistics and financing.
The modus operandi was particularly revealing:
• Operatives were allegedly tasked with conducting reconnaissance of sensitive locations, including police establishments, defence-related sites and religious places.
• Surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras was allegedly positioned to monitor potential targets.
• Local recruits could be offered money and other inducements to carry out specific assignments, allowing Pakistan-based handlers to maintain distance from the actual perpetrators.
• Investigators also traced the movement of weapons, explosives, communications and money, helping establish connections between individuals who initially appeared to be operating independently.
Then came the decisive part: real-time intelligence sharing between central agencies and state police forces.
Instead of treating each suspect, attack or weapons recovery as an isolated case, agencies connected the dots across states.
The result was a massive coordinated crackdown:
👉253 people detained across 14 states
🔹 80+ FIRs linked to the network
🔹 200+ arrests in cases connected to the network
🔹 Recovery of IEDs, grenades, pistols, ammunition and surveillance equipment
🔹 Some recovered grenades reportedly carried Pakistan Ordnance Factory markings
The operation also exposed just how widely the alleged network had spread.
Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of detentions, followed by Haryana, Delhi and Punjab, with action also extending to Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Gujarat, Bihar, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, J&K and Kerala.
And perhaps the most important point:
The objective was not merely to arrest people after an attack. It was to dismantle the network before it could execute its plans.
This is what intelligence-led counter-terrorism looks like:
Identify → infiltrate → connect the dots → share intelligence → disrupt the network → seize the infrastructure → follow the money → arrest the operatives.
Pakistan-based handlers may try to wage a proxy war using criminals, gangsters and vulnerable recruits.
But Bharat's security agencies are increasingly going after the entire ecosystem—not just the person holding the weapon.
That is the real story behind the Shahzad Bhatti network crackdown.
Zero tolerance. Zero complacency. Zero safe space for terror networks.
