As we approach #Movember, another good opportunity to remind all operators to check their balls to ensure they are in good condition and appropriately tightened. Also check your chains for excessive wear.
This truck had a loose hitch ball & worn chains. #OOS until repaired
An oldie but a goodie. This truck was stopped and pulled in for inspection while assisting @WRPS_Traffic with their annual CMV Blitz this week. Congrats to the owner who received a CVSA sticker. Anyone want to guess what year it is? (Hint - Pre-dates steer axle brakes) ^DB
VIA Rail is rerouting trains around Cornwall, Ont. on Wednesday after a semi-truck fell left Hwy. 401 and landed on the CN Rail tracks just outside of the city.

This commercial vehicle was stopped when an officer noticed that a large (and heavy) industrial spool of PVC piping had partially detached. Thankfully, no one was hurt. Both driver and company were fined for six separate charges. Always check your load to ensure it's safe. #2DRU
@Nolan69299850@scowade @Handell_CVE Yes you are 100% correct and I believe that's what the officer stated in his post. But you're not gathering is it doesn't make a difference the reason the brakes were inoperative just that they were inoperative.
Stopped this combo on Dundas. Numerous issues including no trailer safety chains, two flat trailer tires, insecure dangerous goods, overweight on RGW, no annual inspections
Truck had NO insurance.
Driver (owner) charged and summonsed to court. Out of service. #RoadSafety
@Lib_Canuk@CDNinvestigator @Handell_CVE All pickup trucks are plated commercial, even with vanity plates. No such thing as non-commercial black plates.
@templeton_dean @Handell_CVE They do and it's called a schedule 1, and the driver of any vehicle on the road is responsible for having proper documentation.
Another #SPIF#DumpTruck stopped for not playing by the rules. Driving down Bronte fully loaded, tarp not deployed; lift axle up.
Truck overloaded on its axles, gross allowable & tires.
Failing to use the lift Axle when loaded costs the taxpayer in xtra road repair. #CHARGED
@ohgeeshgurl@CstTaraso9345 Here’s a example - video of a SPIF truck with an override switch inside the cab (not the same one as stopped yesterday) ^DB.
Stopped this truck Bronte/Dundas. Spotted an insecure load while it was on route. Only 2 chains total for this 7351KG Dozer. Upon inspection I found a cracked wheel on the tractors drives.
No defects noted in pre trip inspection.
Driver and company charged. #OOS.
Stopped this fully loaded Dump Dundas/Postridge. Right turn on a red light without stopping. Stones sitting on top of the tail gate. Inspection reveals:
-truck on file UNFIT
-plates unattached
-No current permit exists for the truck
Plates seized, #OOS, driver/company charged
