WELL DONE to Cdt Lawson on being the 1000th cadet to achieve the Entry Level Awards (ELA) qualification!👏

The ELA is a British Safety Council Award in Hazard Awareness and is intended to warn and prepare teenagers about the dangers that can be found in the workplace.

Last Thursday, 1982 said goodbye to Sgt Tome.🫡

Sgt Tome was a key asset in the NCO Team and has dedicated many years of hard work to 1982 Huyton Sqn. She has achieved many qualifications and has helped to develop many cadets.

On Tuesday, the cadets spent the night competing on who could decorate the best pancake!

Last week, the Wing First Aid Team visited 1982.

Throughout the night, the cadets took part in a multitude of activities, including creating fake wounds and taking part in a practice scenario!

Thanks to the Wing First Aid Team, the cadets loved it!

On Sunday, cadets from 1982 joined others from across Merseyside at the ATC Sunday Parade.🫡

The parade commemorated the 83rd anniversary of the formation of the Air Training Corps (ATC).

The cadets were a credit to their units, well done everyone!🙌

Recently, Sgt Ashcroft, Cdt Lawson, Cdt O'Niell and Cdt Phillips attended a Youth (Bronze) First Aid Course at @281Southport! 👏

Throughout the course, the cadets were tested on their ability to administer first aid and safely treat a casualty, and were all awarded their badges!

WELL DONE to Cdt Gouldson, Cdt O'Niell and Cdt Phillips on achieving their Leading Classifications!👏🎉

To achieve this, cadets must successfully complete 3 leading exams, fuelled by knowledge gained through hours of study.

It has been a very busy weekend for 1982!🙌

From attending the Remembrance Service at Alder Hey Children's Hospital on Friday, Poppy Collecting on Saturday, and then marching in a squad for Remembrance Parade on Sunday, the cadets have truly dedicated this week to Remembrance!👏

A few weeks ago, the cadets visited Prescott Fire Station!🧑‍🚒

The cadets were taught about what a firefighter does, and they were even given the chance to try on the uniform, and sit in the fire truck!🚒

The Mayor and Mayoress Of Knowsley visited 1982 to inspect the squadron and deliver a session to the cadets.

They were shown around the squadron, got to watch the cadets in action, and finished the night off with a talk about what the role of the Mayor entails! 👏🎉

Horus Birds Of Prey visited 1982 to deliver an educational talk to the cadets!

They spoke about their bird's characteristics, hunting, and how some well-known aircraft are inspired by birds of prey!🦉
