@GeneralsUpdates Most likely it’s because he lays on the ice until the trainer has to come get him. Then doesn’t miss a shift. Hockey gods don’t forget.
@RadioMoser Kulak is a good defensemen. I like the deal.
Burns did a good job last year on the ice, and brings value to the room as a teammate.
I trust Joe. Not every move can be a homerun. He’s building a very good team.
@royalsclubhouse Rarely a profile pic on these keyboard bigots.
If social media knew what they looked like, they wouldn’t act this stupid.
His Mom might change the wifi password if she reads this crap. @TizzyEnt
@jaylonthompson Then a veteran #3 hitter can’t move him over and #4 goes down on 3 pitches. 👎🏽
We have good pitching, our lineup makes it seem like the other teams have GREAT pitching #RaisedRoyal#FountainsUp
Join us in wishing @GeorgeHBrett a happy 73rd birthday!
The @Royals icon is the only player in MLB history to win a batting title in three different decades.
@royalsclubhouse Called 3rd strikes!?!? I don’t get it. Why do they watch so many called 3rd strikes? Protect the plate with 2 strikes! They teach it in Little League.
Day 6
What would you tell someone who was as young as you were who just got diagnosed? What kind of advice or motivation or anything?
I was just 29 years old when I received my ALS diagnosis. I was told by the neurologist that day I was in a 1% odds situation. Yet, I had the same prognosis as everyone else who receives an ALS diagnosis. The average life expectancy is just 2 to 5 years. That’s just the cold, hard facts though.
The first thing I would tell that young 29-year-old is LIFE IS NOT OVER!! All you hear about is preparing for death. These are important conversations to have BUT no one encourages you to go out and live your best life. No one but God can put an expiration date on your life.
- The time is now to live your life intentionally for yourself. Do what makes YOU happy.
- Don’t wait around for a cure for ALS. I’m not saying to lose hope that someday there will be a cure for the disease but rather focusing your energy on making your life the best you can in the moment. ALS waits for no one and will pass you by in an instant if you sit around waiting for things to get better.
- Focus on what you CAN do, not what you CAN’T. That will be an endless rabbit hole you never want to get stuck in.
- Love deeply. Spend as much time as you can surrounded by the ones you love. Make a lifetime of memories with them in whatever amount of time you have. Buy the tickets. Book the trip. Live and be present in all the small moments.
- Find your why. That’s what will fuel your fight during your toughest days.
- Laugh often! You can laugh about it or you can cry about it. Laughter keeps things lighter and more fun.
- Find trust and hope in your faith to keep your fears of the unknowns at bay.
These have been my staples for living life despite having ALS. Is it going to be easy? No. But I promise it’ll be worth it. Life is worth fighting for.
