@rynhayden We've invested about $60-$70 in goodwill, FB marketplace dvds and vhs tapes. Found an old crt and dvd/vhs player being given away. We keep the internet off unless we are doing work, and our kids LOVE it. They find so much pride in earning the right to pick the dvd or cassette!
The ministry can one day puff you up and the next day drain you dry. The only protection from both fleshly dangers is keeping a heart of worship - living consciously in God’s presence. Only He can give humility and sufficiency. No confidence in us. All confidence in Him.
Wow. Just wow. I grew up avoiding #americanidol because the whole point was worshipping false idols.
Compare that reality with tonight, where the final 3 contestants lead WORSHIP on the biggest stage. #HannahHarper ended the show singing "At the Cross." #PRAISEGOD#ChristisKing
@CraigMish@RodAllen12 What even is the point of the challenge system if they clearly got the call wrong, and just wanna go home and not prolong a 7-2 game?
@MikeWingerii@pastorlocke Greg Locke was such an inspiration and role model. It's an absolute tragedy that he's fostered unrepentant sin, and justified his disobedience to preserve his undeniable gifts. Unfortunately, he is disqualified from ministry, despite his clear and obvious calling and talent.
@RevCorbinClarke Agreed and amen. Unless your spiritual forefathers are the ones holding the torches and binding the saints that they slightly disagreed with to the flame. In which case, be very humble with your honor, and praise God for the meek submission and honor of the martyrs. Glory to God!
7 reasons to never make the crowd the goal:
1. Remember that the world and the Devil can get a crowd.
2. A “head count” and a heart prepared are very different.
3. The Lord shows up where “two or three are gathered together” in His name.
4. Historically, some of the most far reaching spiritual awakenings have begun with a little band of sincere believers. “Who hath despised the day of small things?”
5. Jesus very often left the large multitudes to take a small group of disciples aside.
6. The emphasis of the New Testament was never on the size of the churches, but rather on the spirit of them.
7. When the concentration is on the crowd, it is very easy for men to take credit. When all eyes are on the Lord, HE gets the glory.
Beware of trying to keep score…God keeps the record.
@espn Boy have we come a long way. To see espn not cutting off or mocking players for praying (even though they've been doing it out in the open for decades), but actually promoting it. God is at work!
@dalepartridge@haymes_joshua@calvinrobinson That's a solid group, if christianizing is the goal. But if the Gospel is the goal, then you could probably get at least one convert right there at that table! 😉
