Henderson has achieved everything Gerrard wanted to do in his career, but couldn’t because he was shit. Win the league, do well at a tournament for England, sign for Chelsea. Well and truly legacymogged him.
Oh my god, the tears are streaming down my face in pure, unfiltered ecstasy right now as reality finally sinks in that Trev Chalobah is at long last departing my club after all these years of suffering through his laughable defending. My heart is swelling so enormously that I can barely type through the joyful sobs because this joke of a footballer who has been shunted around, loaned out, recalled, and repeatedly deemed surplus yet somehow always hung around and ruined our defence is finally packing his bags.
I am just overwhelmed with happiness that this chapter is closing, crying happy tears of relief and celebration that the endless saga of whether he’d stay or go has reached its beautiful conclusion. My eyes are blurring as I picture him walking out of Stamford Bridge for good after more than a decade and a half associated with my great club, and my heart is laughing at the cringe post he is going to make about his destiny being elsewhere. I keep wiping my cheeks because the sheer delight of this long-awaited exit is too much, too perfect, too emotional after all the near-transfers of previous summers, leaving me a complete emotional wreck of pure joy that it’s actually happening at last. I want to thank my family and friends for bearing with me during this difficult period. This lowkey rivals the joy I felt when Mason Money Mount left our gargantuan institution.
Thanks for absolutely nothing Trev. God bless Chelsea Football Club.
