A Call for Unity and Truth in Nigeria

If I recall correctly, back in 2013/14, there were discussions regarding Boko Haram, with claims that USAID was supplying them with weapons and funding terrorism in Nigeria. Sheikh Zakzaky boldly exposed this, and we believe it was one of the reasons an attempt was made on his life—because he revealed the truth.

However, as God is just, the very sponsors of terrorism in Nigeria have now exposed themselves. Similarly, this week, Adams Oshiomhole also revealed how some former Nigerian military officials played a role in fueling insecurity in the country.

My fellow Nigerians, it is time for us to unite and put an end to divisions based on ethnicity, language, and religion. We must see ourselves as one people, one nation. Let us move beyond the labels of Yoruba, Igbo, or Hausa. Let us move past the debates of Muslim-Muslim, Christian-Christian, or Muslim-Christian leadership. Instead, let us embrace our shared identity—Nigeria. Only then will other nations begin to respect us.

May God guide us and bring peace to our land.
