Not a single divorce was ever necessary btw. Meaning no one MUST be a liar, abuser, adulterer, narcissist, alcoholic, selfish, self-centered, jerk who’s incapable of introspection. Those are choices people make. Likewise they can choose to stop being those things.

If you are having marital issues, do the hard thing and work them out. Don’t give up. That’s the whole point of marriage and commitment, to not throw in the towel when things get hard. Especially with children involved.

So I think part of the reason these discussions on immigration and minority crime are so fraught within evangelicalism is because there are real racists who will simply put all of these issues down to skin color. That’s undeniable, we’ve seen them do it.

But there is another group who will also call you racist if you speak honestly about these issues at all. If you try to discuss why the rate of crime within the black population is much higher than other demographics, for instance. Or if you discuss the problem of violence and fraud that comes from particular immigrant groups.

Your anti-racist warriors draw no distinction between people who want to sensibly and honestly discuss these issues and people who really do despise others for the color of their skin. They just run around calling everyone racist.

And I think this quick trigger finger on calling people racist does the truly racist group a favor by making no distinction.
