How much of India's infrastructure was built after 2014?
• 100% of Dedicated Freight Corridors
• 98% of Solar Capacity
• 85% of the Expressway Network
• 79% of Tap Water Access
• 75% of Metro Rail
• 71% of Port Capacity
• 69% of Railway Electrification
• 60% of 4-Lane National Highways
Infrastructure is built over decades.
But some decades build more than others.

For countries and companies, sovereign control on the AI stack is no longer an optionality. Sarvam will be the partner of choice for this aspiration. The capital allows us to accelerate our momentum towards this full stack of models, compute, and deployments.
A huge thank you to our customers, partners, investors, and the Sarvam team for your trust and belief in what we are building. We’re just getting started.

1. No one is saying this should be a government "only" initiative
2. By your logic, if private companies did not invest in nuclear capabilities - govt shouldn't have done that either?
Stop this childish Govt vs Pvt narrative. India owning AI infra + models is more imp than who does it.
Push private companies to do it by all the means but saying "Govt shouldn't do it because private companies aren't" is like praying for "no one does it = everyone's loss" while living at the mercy of countries that do it.
AI will bring immense competitive advantages to the country. It is today's first line of offense (think capital) but likely tomorrow's last line of defense (think military).

Would rather trust you to lead this initiative, sir!
Many of our "elites" are too comfortable living at the mercy of the US and choosing to believe in some fictitious partnership.
Absolutely!
Unless we control the entire infra for tech implemented here, were screwed in the long run. We need 100s of Sridhar Vembus and Gautam Adanis on steroids. And govt machinery to unfairly push them up. Only thing fair should be a race to be them.
Today's AI is no different than yesterday's nuclear. Only difference is that we're strong enough to no longer need to keep it hidden.
Dr Abdul Kalam was a visionary way ahead of his time. He saw the need for sovereign tech back in 1998.
We have to work hard to catch up now. It is doable, we have the talent. The private sector must make R&D a big priority and the government can assist.
One concrete idea is to hold annual evaluations of critical tech capability across 100 critical sectors and publish a leaderboard in each area. Rank companies by capability. Let competitive forces do the rest.
The government can also institute a prestigious "Dr Abdul Kalam Award" exclusively for engineers and scientists. We must do this annually and create visibility on the progress we make in each critical sector.
India's current account deficit is actually a surplus in the Jan-Mar 2026 quarter, around $7 billion. This is pretty good for a quarter that saw oil spike and the rupee drop to the big 90s.
@itsTarH For us to speculate - What are the odds of Fed raising rates before trillion dollar IPOs for a theme that’s the only rope that US has for now?
Nirmala Sitharaman has been one of the best finance ministers in Indian history. Nobody has gone through so many crises one-after-one since 1991.
Let us also remember the major decisions and political capital is anyway the PMO's, just like they were during the MMS-PVNR era also.
True! Everyone else has a responsibility to build tech businesses for the country while we, the investors/fund managers, and keyboard warriors, have responsibility to only focus on our core business.
