@marialcepeda@DrAndreDavid@jpuertapelayo @laura_tsc You cannot see the radiation in a cloud chamber but I was happy to let them try.
Basically you need to put a geiger counter inside to get some clicks.
While I never had the pleasure to discuss with Peter Higgs I would like to highlight the clarity of his vision and share something he said about @CERN's @FCC_study.

The ATLAS Collaboration mourns the passing of renowned physicist Peter Higgs, whose theoretical work reshaped our understanding of the Universe. (1/2) https://t.co/LXXvGQRd3E
Our collaboration aspires to honour Peter Higgs’ memory by embodying the spirit of curiosity he exemplified — especially in our efforts to unlock the secrets of the particle named after him: the Higgs boson. (2/2)
“Besides his outstanding contributions to particle physics, Peter was a very special person, an immensely inspiring figure for physicists across the world, a man of rare modesty, a great teacher and someone who explained physics in a very simple and yet profound way. (1/2)
The shift leader is responsible for CMS taking high quality data and today we expect the first physics quality collisions thanks @cern#LHC! And I happen to be @cmsexperiment shift leader this afternoon. LHC just now started injection of the particles into the big ring 🤩😍🤓🥳
Happy faces in the ATLAS Experiment Control Room, as shifters ready for high-intensity physics data! 👏
Be part of the ATLAS team! Watch the first #live collisions in the ATLAS detector: https://t.co/D2PLmIX3hn
This was a measurement that I first did in Run 1 together with @1cRebeca - it is still important so great to see it being done more and getting more precise every time, so it can test the weak force in the extreme top quark world 😎🤩🥵
@pietrovischia I don’t see the people I want to see at all, and I get a lot of advertising (of weird things) and long posts by bros that tell me how to use AI in my daily work. It sucks. So then I guess I should curate the list better? Idk 🤷🏼♀️
I’m fully out of twitter these days but @DrAndreDavid pulled me back luring me with the awesome @ATLASexperiment puzzle, so let me tell you what I’ve been up to!
A thread 🧵 👇
Our colleague @Andrea_21Z is giving her PhD defense talk, right now in @uniovi_info Sala de Grados of the Science Building. Top quarks and machine learning! @UniOvi_HEPex
Finally, the focus topics paper was out the other day. After months of circling over it! You may have seen it via @PKoppenburg!
