Irish actress Brenda Fricker has died at the age of 81.

The Dublin-born performer made history as the first Irish woman to win an Academy Award for acting, taking home the Oscar for My Left Foot in 1990. She'll also be remembered for beloved roles in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, The Field and Casualty.
